Procedures for issuance of Architectural Practicing Certificate in Vietnam(Latest) (Illustration)

Step 1: Prepare an application for issuance of an architecture practicing certificate with required documents

An application includes:

1. An application form for a practicing certificate according to form No. 02, Appendix III issued together with Decree 85/2020/ND-CP (01 original);

2. 02 portrait pictures (4x6 cm) of the applicant on a white background which was taken within the last 06 months;

3.  University degree or diploma with the contents of the certificate to be issued;

4. A decision on task assignment by an organization to the individual or a written certification provided by the legal representative of the investor of typical tasks completed by individuals in accordance with the contents declared;

5. Contract and record of acceptance of the declared jobs (in case of independent practice);

6. Valid results of the test that the applicant has passed.

Note: Except for the application form, other diplomas and documents must be certified copies or files containing color photos taken from the originals or copies, present the originals for comparison.

Step 2: Submit the application at the competent authority

You can submit in 3 ways:

- Submit online application online;

- Submit application via postal service; or

- Submit directly at the Public Administration Service Center or the Department of receiving and returning results of specialized agencies in charge of provincial architecture.

Step 3: If the dossier is missing or invalid, the agency responsible for issuing the architectural practice certificate must notify the individual in writing within five (5) days of receipt.

Step 4: Within 15 days from the date of receipt of a complete and valid application, the competent authority shall issue the architectural practice certificate.

Subjects of implementation: Vietnamese citizens, Vietnamese residing abroad, foreigners, cadres, civil servants, and public employees.

Notes

- For diplomas granted by foreign training institutions, there must be a translation into Vietnamese, notarized and authenticated according to the provisions of Vietnamese law.

- For individuals who are foreigners working in Vietnam, it is necessary to supplement legal papers on residence or work permits issued by competent Vietnamese agencies.
