Requirements for Skills in Freshwater Aquaculture at College Level

Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH issued by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs stipulates the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate level, college level in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fishery, and veterinary medicine, effective from February 10, 2019.

According to the requirements of minimum knowledge volume and competency that learners must achieve after graduating at intermediate and college level in the field of freshwater aquaculture, issued together with Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum skills that learners must achieve after graduating at the college level in freshwater aquaculture are as follows:

- Identify some species of aquaculture animals and some aquatic organisms in freshwater environments;- Identify and apply microorganisms in freshwater aquaculture;- Develop production plans suitable for each aquaculture species and the consumption market;- Proficiently implement the technology process of seed production and commercial farming of economically valuable freshwater fish species;- Proficiently implement the technology process of seed production and commercial farming of economically valuable freshwater specialty aquatic species;- Implement the technology process of ornamental fish farming;- Proficiently implement the technology process of fry cultivation and farming of some cold-water aquatic species;- Identify and manage some environmental factors in freshwater aquaculture;- Prepare and use feed in freshwater aquaculture;- Proficiently transport freshwater aquaculture animals ensuring safety and efficiency;- Apply integrated disease prevention measures; diagnose and treat some common diseases in freshwater aquaculture animals;- Use some types of biological products, medicines, chemicals, equipment, tools, and specialized equipment in freshwater aquaculture safely and effectively;- Appraise and evaluate the results of seed production and commercial farming of economically valuable freshwater aquaculture animals;- Update and disseminate legal regulations and state policies related to freshwater aquaculture;- Communicate effectively through writing, presentations, discussions, negotiations, and handling situations;- Synthesize information, write and present reports;- Provide consulting and services related to aquaculture materials and products;- Implement business models for freshwater aquaculture;- Proficiently apply safety and labor hygiene measures in freshwater aquaculture;- Use basic information technology as required; exploit, process, and apply information technology in the specialized work of the field;- Use basic foreign languages, achieving level 2/6 in the Vietnamese language proficiency framework; apply foreign languages in the specialized work of the field.
