Regulations on Minimum Knowledge Requirements for Intermediate-Level Plant Protection

On December 28, 2018, Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH was issued by BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation at the intermediate and college levels in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fishery, and veterinary medicine.

Per the Regulation on Minimum Knowledge Volume, competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the field of Plant Protection, issued together with Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum knowledge that must be achieved after graduating from the intermediate level in the Plant Protection sector is as follows:

- Describe, identify, and analyze the basic characteristics of harmful organisms to crops;

- Classify symptom groups according to plant diseases and harmful insects;

- Present methods for the safe and effective use of plant protection chemicals and fertilizers, and environmental protection measures;

- Present methods for investigating and forecasting crop pest outbreaks;

- Present principles of integrated pest management and propose effective preventive measures;

- Present agricultural extension methods and environmental protection measures;

- Present basic knowledge on production management in agriculture, fertilizer trading, plant protection chemicals, and crop varieties;

- Enumerate experimental design methods, fertilizer trials, plant protection chemical tests, and crop variety tests;

- Present the fundamental content of various state regulatory documents related to plant protection and plant quarantine;

- Present basic knowledge of politics, culture, society, law, national defense and security, and physical education as required.
