Minimum Knowledge Requirements for Freshwater Aquaculture at the College Level

Circular No. 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH issued by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs stipulates the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate to college levels in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fishery, and veterinary. This Circular comes into effect on February 10, 2019.

Pursuant to the regulation on minimum knowledge volume, requirements on competency that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the occupation of freshwater aquaculture issued together with Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, it is stipulated that the minimum knowledge learners must achieve after graduating from the college level in the field of freshwater aquaculture are as follows:

- Describe the biological characteristics of some economically valuable freshwater aquatic species; state the roles and identification features of some aquatic organisms in freshwater bodies;

- Present and analyze the roles, applications of microorganisms in freshwater aquaculture;

- Present and explain the technological process of production and commercial breeding of some economically valuable freshwater fish;

- Present and explain the technological process of production and commercial breeding of some freshwater specialty species;

- Present and explain the technological process of ornamental fish breeding;

- Present and explain the technological process of cold-water fish breeding and commercial farming;

- Describe methods for determining some water environmental indicators; analyze and evaluate methods for managing some environmental factors in freshwater aquaculture;

- Present methods for preparing and using feed in freshwater aquaculture;

- Describe methods for transporting freshwater aquatic animals; analyze factors affecting aquatic animals during transportation;

- Present integrated disease prevention measures, methods for diagnosing aquatic animal diseases; analyze and evaluate measures to treat common diseases in freshwater aquatic animals;

- Present and analyze principles for using biological products, medicines, chemicals, equipment, tools in the laboratory, and specialized equipment in freshwater aquaculture;

- Present communication theories, communication skills, psychological factors affecting communication with customers;

- Present measures to ensure labor safety and hygiene in aquaculture;

- Present basic knowledge about politics, culture, society, law, national defense and security, physical education, and informatics as required.
