On December 28, 2018, Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH was issued by BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation at the intermediate and college levels in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fishery, and veterinary medicine.

According to the regulations on minimum knowledge volume, competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate level, college level in freshwater aquaculture professions, issued together with Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the intermediate level in freshwater aquaculture is a profession that performs tasks aimed at producing quality, food-safe aquatic breeds and products to serve human life and provide raw materials for the processing and export fishery industry, meeting level 4 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.
The profession of freshwater aquaculture has a wide scope of activities in inland freshwater areas. The tasks primarily occur in production stations, farms, enterprises, and freshwater aquatic animal conservation areas, including the production of breeds, commercial farming, and preserving genetic sources of some economically valuable freshwater aquatic animals; managing the aquatic farming environment; and preventing and treating common diseases in freshwater aquatic animals. Additionally, those learning freshwater aquaculture can work at agricultural extension centers, state management agencies, and in the business of freshwater aquaculture materials and products services.
