Essential Skills After Graduation in the Field of Food Crop Cultivation at the College Level

On February 10, 2019, Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH issued by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (BLDTBXH) regulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate and college levels in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and veterinary medicine, will take effect.

Under the Regulations on the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating at the intermediate and college levels in the General Crop Cultivation and Food Processing sector, issued together with Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum skills required of college graduates in the General Crop Cultivation and Food Processing sector are as follows:

- Develop a production plan, plant, care for, and harvest in accordance with each type of crop and the consumption market;- Calculate technical economic norms for the cultivation and care of food crops;- Develop and implement plans for the production of crop varieties, planting, and caring for and harvesting food crops;- Perform steps in preparing seedlings, planting, caring for, managing, protecting, and developing food crops;- Utilize equipment and tools for planting, caring for, and controlling pests on food crops;- Inspect and evaluate the results of planting, caring for, and harvesting food crops;- Carry out procedures for harvesting, preliminary processing, preserving, and distributing food crop products;- Apply new technology in the production of food crops;- Disseminate specialized knowledge, market information, regulations, and policies related to the food sector;- Summarize information and compile and present reports;- Evaluate and develop rural development plans;- Implement agricultural business models;- Use basic information technology as prescribed; exploit, process, and apply information technology in professional work in the sector;- Use basic foreign languages, reaching level 2/6 in the Vietnamese language proficiency framework; apply foreign languages in professional work in the sector.
