Employees who meet the statutory requirements will be entitled to unemployment allowance. Below are the regulations on the levels of unemployment allowance in 2022.

How much unemployment allowance will employees receive in 2022? (Illustration)
Unemployment allowances levels ar specified in Article 50 of Law on Employment 2013 as follows:
- The monthly unemployment allowance level equals 60% of the average monthly wage of 6 consecutive months before the worker becomes unemployed;
- Maximum level of unemployment allowance:
+ Must not exceed 5 times the basic wage level for for workers receiving wages under the State-prescribed regime.
Currently, according to Decree 38/2019/ND-CP, the statutory pay rate is VND 1,490,000 per month. Thus, workers receiving wages under the State-prescribed regime will receive a maximum unemployment allowance of 7,450,000 VND; or
+ Must not exceed 5 times the region-based minimum wage level under the Labor Code, for workers who pay unemployment insurance premiums under the wage regime decided by employers at the time of termination of the labor contract or working contract.
From July 1, 2022, the regional minimum wage is specified in Decree 38/2022/ND-CP. According to the Decree, for employees who pay unemployment insurance premiums according to the salary regime decided by the employer at the time of termination of the labor contract or working contract, the maximum unemployment allowance level are as follows:
++ Not more than 23,400,000 VND for region I;
++ Not more than 20,800,000 VND for region II;
++ Not more than 18,200,000 VND for region III;
++ Not more than 16,250,000 VND for region IV.
