Does the Vietnam Judicial Academy announce the enrollment of the 1st class of the 25th Lawyer vocational training in Vietnam at Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in 2023?
On February 21, 2023, the Judicial Academy of Vietnam issued Notice 166/TB-HVTP in 2023 to enroll the 25th Lawyer Vocational Training Class 1 in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in 2023.
Pursuant to Decision 3068/QD-HVTP 2022 of the Judicial Academy of Vietnam's 2023 training enrollment plan issued on 30/12/2022, the enrollment target for lawyer vocational training classes is 2,000 people.
Also according to Notice 166/TB-HVTP in 2023, the enrollment of the 25th Lawyer Vocational Training Class 1 in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in 2023 clearly states the training program as follows:
- Form of training: Training by credit (36 credits)
- Training period: 12 months
- Diploma: Certificate of graduation from legal vocational training

Notice 166/TB-HVTP 2023 based on Decision 1706/QD-HVTP dated December 28, 2021 of the Director of the Vietnam Judicial Academy, the admission fee and tuition fee of the lawyer vocational training class at the Vietnam Judicial Academy are as follows:
- Admission service fee: 200,000 VND/ 01 candidate
- Tuition fee:
+ For courses held in the evening on weekdays and Saturdays and Sundays: 25,190,000 VND/student/course (Twenty-five million one hundred and ninety thousand VND even).
+ For courses held during office hours: 20,150,000 VND/student/course (Twenty million one hundred and fifty thousand VND even).
Candidates who are entitled to non-academic exemptions and reductions and applicable conditions as prescribed in Article 2 of Decision 1706/QD-HVTP dated December 28, 2021 of the Director of the Judicial Academy of Vietnam must prepare and submit the application for preferential treatment immediately upon submission of the application: (02 notarized or certified copies of birth certificates + certificates, invalid cards ... Certificate/Certificate of graduation of the training class according to the social needs of the Academy of Justice).

What is the standard for becoming a Lawyer in 2023 in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 10 of the 2006 Law on Lawyers of Vietnam, it provides as follows:
Article 10.- Criteria of lawyers
Vietnamese citizens who are loyal to the Fatherland, observe the Constitution and law, have good moral qualities, possess a law bachelor diploma, have been trained in legal profession, have gone through the probation of legal profession and have good health for law practice may become lawyers.
At the same time, pursuant to Article 11 of the 2006 Law on Lawyers of Vietnam, the conditions for practicing law are as follows:
Article 11.- Conditions for law practice
A person who meets all the criteria specified in Article 10 of this Law, if wishing to practice law, must possess a law practice certificate and join a bar association.
Accordingly, the criteria for becoming a Lawyer are as follows:
- Vietnamese citizens are loyal to the Fatherland, abide by the Constitution and the law,
- Have good moral qualities,
- Have a bachelor's degree in law,
- Have been trained as a lawyer,
- Past the probationary period of practicing law,
- Have good health to practice law to become a lawyer.
At the same time, persons who meet the above criteria to practice law must have a law practice certificate and join a bar association.
