Based on the job description of the district-level Chief Inspector in Appendix VI promulgated together with Circular No. 12/2022/TT-BNV, the district-level Chief Inspector is the head of the district inspection agency and is responsible for responsible for leading, directing, managing and operating activities of the district inspectorate;
At the same time, district-level Chief Inspectors advise and assist the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities in performing the state management function on inspection, settlement of complaints, denunciations, and anti-corruption in the province according to the provisions of law.

Based on the job description of the district-level Chief Inspector in Appendix VI issued with Circular No. 12/2022/TT-BNV, the district-level Chief Inspector shall perform the following specific tasks:

Inspection | 1. District-level Chief Inspectors have the task of leading, directing and inspecting inspection work within the state management scope of district-level People's Committees; leaders of district inspectorates perform their tasks and exercise their powers in accordance with this Law and other relevant laws. 2. What powers does the district-level Chief Inspector have in his/her work?
Based on the job description of the district-level Chief Inspector in Appendix VI issued with Circular No. 12/2022/TT-BNV, the district-level Chief Inspector has the following powers:
(1) Authority to make decisions in professional work
- Deciding on inspection when detecting signs of law violation and taking responsibility before district-level People's Committee chairpersons for their decisions.
- Proposing to competent state agencies to amend, supplement and promulgate regulations to suit management requirements; proposing the suspension or cancellation of illegal regulations discovered through inspection.
- Proposing chairpersons of district-level People's Committees to settle inspection problems; In case such recommendation is not accepted, it shall report to the provincial-level Chief Inspector.
- Proposing district-level People's Committee chairpersons to consider responsibilities and handle persons under the management of district-level People's Committee chairpersons who commit law violations detected through inspection or fail to comply with conclusions and decisions on handling inspection;
In addition, they have the right to request heads of other agencies or organizations to consider their responsibilities and handle persons under the management of agencies or organizations that have committed law violations detected through inspection or fail to comply with conclusions and decisions on handling inspection.
- Deciding on inspection when detecting signs of law violation.
(2) Authority in the management of cadres, civil servants and public employees
- Assign work to the District-level Deputy Inspectors.
