On March 1, 2023, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam announced the schedule for the high school graduation exam in 2023, which was held on June 27, 28, 29, and 30 June 2023.

Pursuant to Clause 3, Article 14 of the Exam Regulations issued together with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT has the following provisions:

3. In each examination session, the candidate shall be present at the designated exam room on time, follow the instructions of invigilation board and invigilators. Candidates who arrive later than 15 minutes after the official start of the exam shall not be admitted to the exam room.

Vietnam: How much is the minimum score to be considered for graduation in 2023?

Pursuant to Article 3 of the Regulation on high school graduation exam promulgated together with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT, it stipulates as follows:

Papers
The exam consists of 5 papers, including: 3 independent papers are: Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Language; 1 paper of natural science (a combination of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology); 1 paper of social science (a combination of History, Geography, and Civic Education) with respect to students of compulsory education program at high school level or the papers of History and Geography with respect to students of continuing education program at high school level.

At the same time, according to Clause 1, Article 42 of the Regulation on high school graduation exams issued together with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT, it stipulates as follows:

High school graduation recognition
1. Candidates who meet the requirements of taking the exam, have no discipline record at the level of score disposal and above, have all papers and component subjects in combined papers scored greater than 1 point in scale 1-10 and have the grade-point average for graduation assessment from 5 and above are qualified to be recognized as high school graduates.

Accordingly, graduating from the National High School in 2023 must take the following subjects:

- 3 independent papers are: Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Language;

- 1 paper of natural science (a combination of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology);

- 1 paper of social science (a combination of History, Geography, and Civic Education) with respect to students of compulsory education program at high school level or the papers of History and Geography with respect to students of continuing education program at high school level.

At the same time, all papers and component subjects in combined papers score greater than 1 point in scale 1-10

Accordingly:

- Compulsory Math, Literature and Foreign Languages must score above 1 point.

- In case of taking a combined exam, and score lower than 1 point in the subjects for graduation consideration, candidates will not be eligible for graduation and not be considered for admission to universities or colleges with this combination of subjects.

- In case of taking both tests, candidates will be able to choose one of the two exams with higher scores and higher than 1 point for graduation.
