What time is the time for night driving lessons in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Clause 14, Article 13 of Circular 12/2017/TT-BGTVT supplemented by Clause 1, Article 4 of Circular 05/2024/TT-BGTVT, time for night driving lessons is prescribed as follows:

The time for night driving lessons is calculated from 6:00 PM of the previous day to 5:00 AM the following day.
Therefore, individuals who take driving lessons from 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following day are considered to be in the time frame for night driving lessons.

Pursuant to Article 5 of Circular 09/2015/TT-BGTVT amended by Clause 2, Article 2 of Circular 05/2024/TT-BGTVT, regulations on driving time calculation are as follows:

3. Calculation of driving time
a) The driving time of a driver is determined when the driver operates a vehicle participating in traffic (only counting the time when the vehicle is moving at a speed).
b) Exceeding continuous driving time is determined when the total driving time of a driver exceeds 4 hours but the driver does not take a break as specified in Clause 4, Article 11 of Decree No. 10/2020/NĐ-CP dated January 17, 2020, issued by the Government on business and conditions for conducting transportation by motor vehicles or fails to change the driver.
c) Exceeding the working time of a driver in a day is determined when the total driving time of a driver in a day exceeds 10 hours. The working day of a driver is calculated from 00:00 to 24:00.
d) The calculation method is implemented according to the regulations in Appendix 6 issued together with this Circular.
Specifically, Appendix IX issued with Circular 05/2024/TT-BGTVT clearly states the method for calculating driving time as follows:
Driving time:
a) The start time of a vehicle is determined when there are two consecutive messages with V[N] > 3 km/h.
b) The end time is determined when:
- The stopping or parking time is >= 15 minutes (applies to fixed-route vehicles, contract vehicles, tourist vehicles, inter-provincial buses) or >= 5 minutes (applies to intra-provincial buses, taxis).
There is a change in driver recorded by the device.
2. Calculation of violations of driving time:
a) Violation of continuous driving time is determined when the driving time of a driver exceeds 4 hours without a stop or parking time >= 15 minutes (applies to fixed-route vehicles, contract vehicles, tourist vehicles, inter-provincial buses, and cargo transport vehicles) or >= 5 minutes (applies to intra-provincial buses, taxis) or without a driver change.
Additional algorithm: For units that have information on engine on/off as a calculation condition, in cases where the vehicle is still moving but there is no data, the continuous driving time is still calculated.
b) Violation of daily driving time is determined when the total driving time of a driver in a day exceeds 10 hours.
3. Stopping or parking time:
It starts counting when there are two consecutive messages with V[N] ≤ 3 km/h and V[N-1] ≤ 3 km/h, and it ends when there are two consecutive messages with V[N] > 3 km/h and V[N-1] > 3 km/h.
Therefore, the maximum driving time for a person is determined based on the total driving time as follows:
- Not exceeding 4 hours of continuous driving time, in cases where there is no stop or parking time >= 15 minutes (applies to fixed-route vehicles, contract vehicles, tourist vehicles, inter-provincial buses, and cargo transport vehicles) or >= 5 minutes (applies to intra-provincial buses, taxis) or without a driver change.
- Not exceeding 10 hours of working time in a day, calculated from 00:00 to 24:00.
Circular 05/2024/TT-BGTVT comes into force from June 1, 2024.
