- Colonel and sub-colonel ranks: the small and longitudinal edges of the insignia's base have a blue border, with a 6 mm wide stripe running along the base; colonels have two stripes, sub-colonels have one stripe. The stripes of operational officers are yellow, and those of technical specialists are dark blue.
b) Insignia buttons: circular; for generals, they are yellow with a raised national emblem; for colonels, they are yellow; for sub-colonels, they are yellow with a raised five-pointed star in the middle of two rice ears, under the rice ears is a half-wheel, in the half-wheel is the intertwined letters "CA".
c) Five-pointed star: for generals, they are yellow with raised patterns, 23 mm in diameter; for colonels, they are yellow with raised patterns, 21.5 mm in diameter; for sub-colonels, yellow and 21.5 mm in diameter. The number and arrangement are as follows:
- Junior Sub-colonel, Junior Colonel, Junior General: 1 star.

What are the conditions and time limits for promotion in the People's Public Security?
The conditions for promotion are stipulated in Clause 2 Article 22 of the People's Public Security Law 2018:
Officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers in the People's Public Security are promoted when they meet the following conditions:
- Complete their duties, meet political standards, moral qualities, professional qualifications, and health requirements;
- The current rank is lower than the highest rank stipulated for the position or title being held;
- Complete the required time limit for consideration for promotion according to Clause 3 Article 22 of the People's Public Security Law 2018.
The time limit for consideration for promotion is stipulated in Clause 3 Article 22 of the People's Public Security Law 2018:
- Non-commissioned officers and operational officers:

+ From Corporal to Sergeant: 1 year;
+ From Sergeant to Junior Sub-colonel: 2 years;
