Under the provisions of Section 8.1, Vietnam Standard TCVN ISO/IEC 17011:2017, the requirements for confidential information are specified as follows:
The accreditation body, through legally binding agreements, is responsible for managing all information obtained or generated during the accreditation process. The accreditation body must notify the conformity assessment body in advance of the information it intends to disclose. Except for information made public by the conformity assessment body, or agreed between the accreditation body and the conformity assessment body (e.g. to respond to complaints), all other information collected during the accreditation process is considered proprietary information and must be kept confidential.
- Where the accreditation body is required by law or authorized by contractual agreement to disclose confidential information, the conformity assessment body shall be informed of the provided information unless prohibited by law.
Information about the conformity assessment body obtained from sources other than the conformity assessment body (e.g. complainants, management organizations) must be kept confidential between the conformity assessment body and the accreditation body. The provider (source) of this information must be confidential to the accreditation body and may not be shared with the conformity assessment body unless agreed by the provider.
- Personnel, including members of any board, contractors, personnel of external organizations or individuals acting on behalf of the accreditation body, must keep confidential all information collected or generated in the accreditation process of the accreditation body, except as required by law.

The accreditation body must have access to sufficient qualified personnel to manage and support all accreditation activities for all accreditation programs.
- The accreditation body must have valid agreements that require all personnel to comply with current policies and the processes prescribed by the accreditation body. The agreements must address aspects related to confidentiality and objectivity and must require all personnel to notify the accrediting organization of any current, previous or upcoming relationships, that may harm objectivity.
- The accreditation body must allow auditors and technical experts to have access to the latest set of documented procedures, providing audit instructions and all relevant information about the accreditation process.
