Pursuant to the provisions of subsection 2, Section II, national technical regulations on Vietnam topographic maps 1:50,000, 1:100.000, promulgated together with Circular 06/2022/TT-BTNMT on national technical regulations on National topographic map at 1:50,000, 1:100,000 scale issued by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, providing regulations on the use of data layers of national borders and administrative boundaries in Vietnam topographic maps at scale 1:50,000, 1:100,000 specifically as follows:

- Group of data layers of national borders, administrative boundaries representing national borders, system of national landmarks; show administrative boundaries at all levels on land and administrative boundaries at all levels at sea.

- National border lines and national landmarks are shown fully, accurately and uniformly according to standard national border maps. When there is no standard map of national borders, the border lines and national landmarks shall be drawn according to the provisions of Article 12 of Circular No. 17/2018/TT-BTNMT dated October 31, 2018 of the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment. The environment technical regulations for the establishment and updating of standard maps of national borders and the representation of national borders and national territorial sovereignty on surveying and cartographic products and cartographic publications. The national border line must be shown continuously without interruption.

- Administrative boundary lines at all levels are shown according to the administrative boundary map of the same scale or the closest scale to the map. The boundary lines must be shown continuously without interruption until they intersect with the boundary line of the same level. The distance from the administrative boundary line at all levels to the linear feature on the map is 0.2 mm. The same applies to the case where the national border line coincides with the linear feature showing half scale or scale when the width of the linear feature on the map is less than 2.0 mm;

- At the end or beginning of a symbolic segment of the national border line, the administrative boundary line at all levels must show full symbols, without excess or lack of symbols. The fork and crossroads of the national border line and the administrative boundary line at all levels must clearly show the intersection of objects;

- For national maritime boundaries and administrative boundaries at sea levels, it is not necessary to show staggered objects;

- Show the baseline and the base point according to the coordinates stated in the appendix attached to the Declaration of the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam dated 12-11-1982 or according to the latest document upon request at the time of establishment and update of the map.

- Name of the commune-level administrative unit within the map piece located in the central area of ​​the commune's administrative scope. In case the commune scope is divided on many map pieces, the commune name shall be prioritized in the piece where the commune-level People's Committee is located, in case the plot with the commune-level People's Committee headquarters is not large enough to represent the area. If the commune name is shown, note the commune name in the piece with the widest scope, the other pieces only show the commune name outside the map frame. The name of the commune administrative unit includes all common nouns and proper nouns. If the area is not enough, the common noun can be abbreviated as prescribed in Appendix C of this National Technical Regulation. District and province names do not show common nouns, only common nouns when the proper name of that administrative unit has one syllable;

- Name of the district-level administrative unit within the map piece is shown below the name of the commune-level administrative unit where the district-level People's Committee is located. If the name of the commune-level administrative unit is the same as the district name, the name of the commune-level administrative unit shall be shown according to the symbol of the district capital and not the district name;

- The name of the province-level administrative unit within the map piece is shown below the name of the district-level administrative unit with the headquarters of the provincial-level People's Committee, if the name of the district-level administrative unit is the same as the province's name, showing the name of the district-level administrative unit according to the symbol of the provincial capital and not showing the name of the province;

- For islands and archipelagos, the name of the administrative unit is shown in parentheses;

- Names of administrative units at all levels are also shown outside the map frame, on both sides of the corresponding administrative boundaries. Only fully write the common noun at the beginning of the boundary, which is commune, town, town or district. If the area is not enough, the common noun can be abbreviated as prescribed in Appendix C of this National Technical Regulation. District and province names do not show common nouns, only common nouns when the proper name of that administrative unit has one syllable.
