- The logo design is based on the number 70, stylized with two lines representing the idea of overcoming hardships and the determination of our people to achieve victory at Dien Bien Phu.
- The number 70 is filled with multiple colors to create a dazzling and mystical visual effect, representing the joyful spirit of the entire nation celebrating the victory. The background of the number 0 symbolizes the triumph of the Dien Bien soldiers.
- The entire text content is in blue color, representing peace and the celebration of the heroic victory of the Vietnamese People's Army, as well as the characteristic mountainous region of the Northwest.
What is the historical significance of the Dien Bien Phu Victory?
Firstly, it represents the pinnacle of the resistance war against French colonialism, providing the fundamental basis and determining the signing of the Geneva Accords to cease hostilities in Vietnam.
The Dien Bien Phu Victory marked the end of the stubbornness and aggression of French colonialism and the United States at the negotiating table, forcing the French government and participating parties to sit down for negotiations and sign the Geneva Accords (except for the US) to cease hostilities in Vietnam on July 21, 1954.
It was also a decisive victory for us on the diplomatic front, enhancing Vietnam's position on the international stage and contributing to the end of the invasive war by French colonialism in Vietnam.
Secondly, it opened a new revolutionary period, leading the North to socialism and establishing a solid rear for the struggle to completely liberate the South and reunify the country.
The Dien Bien Phu Victory marked the successful end of the resistance war against French colonialism, bringing about fundamental changes in all aspects: economy, politics, military, culture, and diplomacy for the Vietnamese revolution, and marking the beginning of a new phase, with the North advancing towards socialism and the South continuing the national democratic revolution.
The achievements in building socialism as well as the contributions of the Northern rear to the major front in the South strengthened the confidence of the people in both regions in the final victory of the resistance war.
By upholding the spirit of the Dien Bien Phu Victory - "independence, self-reliance, determination to fight, determination to win" - and creatively applying Marxist-Leninist ideology and the thoughts of Ho Chi Minh, we have achieved many great victories, defeated the strategies of the US imperialists and their lackeys, liberated and reunified the country, and led the whole country towards socialism.
Thirdly, it affirms the correct and creative path of resistance led by the Party and the strength and maturity of the Vietnamese People's Army.
The Dien Bien Phu Victory proved the truth that in modern times, a small country with slow economic development, if led by a genuine Marxist-Leninist party with correct political and military policies, and able to harness the strength of the entire nation with the support and sympathy of the world's people, will surely defeat any enemy, no matter how much economic and military power they possess.
The historic victory of Dien Bien Phu also demonstrated the remarkable growth of the Vietnamese People's Army.
This served as the foundation for the entire Party, people, and army to uphold the heroic revolutionary spirit, remain steadfast, dare to fight, know how to fight, be determined to fight, and win the American invaders, completely liberate the South, and reunify the country.
Fourthly, it ended the colonial domination of French colonialism in the three Indochinese countries, marking the beginning of the collapse of old colonialism worldwide.
