Pursuant to the Agreement on Vietnam - China land border management regulations, regulations on border lines managed by the border representative are implemented according to Appendix 9 issued with the Agreement.

As follows:

(1) Border representative line 01: from the intersection point of three countries Vietnam - Laos - China to border marker 17.

(2) Border representative line 02: from border marker 17 to border marker 85.

(3) Border representative line 03: from border marker 85 to border marker 167.

(4) Border representative line 04: from border marker 167 to border marker 498.

(5) Border representative line 05: from border marker 498 to border marker 820.

(6) Border representative line 06: from border marker 820 to border marker 962.

(7) Border representative line 07: from border marker 962 to border marker 1300/4.

(8) Border representation line 08: from border marker 1300/4 to the end of the border line.

State policy on Vietnam border guard
1. Implementing policies of independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity; building peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and long-term stable borders with countries sharing the same borders; expanding international cooperation, defense diplomacy, security, border diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy.
2. Resolving national border issues through peaceful means based on mutual respect for independence, sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, and legitimate interests, in accordance with the Constitution, Vietnamese laws, and international treaties to which the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is a member.
3. Using appropriate and just measures to protect the independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the homeland.
4. Implementing the policy of national solidarity; building a strong and widespread national border defense force, with the people as the subject and the armed forces as the backbone.
5. Strengthening national defense and security; prioritizing investment resources, modernizing border facilities, and developing the economy, culture, society, science, technology, and diplomacy in the border areas.
6. Mobilizing resources from agencies, organizations, and individuals to fulfill border defense tasks.
7. Encouraging and creating conditions for agencies, organizations, and individuals to support material, financial, and spiritual resources for border defense tasks on a voluntary basis, in compliance with Vietnamese law and in accordance with international law.

Currently, the state has implemented these policies regarding border defense. Among them, the state is committed to implementing policies of independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity; building peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and long-term stable borders with countries sharing the same borders; expanding international cooperation, defense diplomacy, security, border diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy.

Pursuant to Article 8 of Law on Vietnam Border Guard 2020, prohibited acts in Vietnam border guard include:

- Infringing upon national sovereignty and territory; sabotaging and causing instability in border areas, checkpoints, and social security.

- Using or allowing the use of Vietnam's border areas to sabotage or interfere in other countries; threatening to use or using force in border relations.

- Impersonating authorities, organizations, or individuals engaged in border defense tasks; opposing, obstructing, retaliating against, threatening, endangering the lives and health, and insulting the dignity and integrity of those involved in border defense tasks.

- Bribing, corrupting, enticing, luring, or coercing individuals involved in border defense tasks to violate the provisions of the law.

- Exploiting, abusing the enforcement of border defense tasks to violate the law, infringe upon the interests of the state, and the legitimate rights and interests of authorities, organizations, and individuals.

- Discriminating based on gender, dividing, discriminating against ethnic groups, races, nationalities, religions, cultural levels in the execution of border defense tasks.

- Producing, using, buying, selling, exchanging, transporting, disseminating false information, distorted images regarding national sovereignty, territory, and national borders.
