Under subsection 2 of Section II of Resolution 43-NQ/TW 2023 of the 8th plenum the XIII Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on on continuing to promote the tradition and strength of national unity and developing our country to be more prosperous and happy, the objectives are outlined as follows:
- Continue to promote the traditions and strength of national unity, strengthen social consensus, strongly arouse the spirit of patriotism, the will for national self-reliance, belief and aspiration to contribute and build an increasingly prosperous and happy country;
- Contribute to the successful completion of the objective that Vietnam will be a developing country, with modern industry and high average income by 2030 and become a developed and high-income country with a socialist orientation by 2045.

According to subsection 4 of Section III of Resolution 43-NQ/TW 2023, the 8th plenum of the XIII Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam has clearly stated tasks and solutions to enhance the role, effectiveness, and efficiency of the State's operation in promoting traditions and the strength of national unity as follows:
- Continue to develop and perfect the Socialist Rule of Law in the State of Vietnam by the People, led by the People, and for the People led by the Party.
Formulate a legal system that is adequate, timely, synchronous, uniform, feasible, open, transparent and stable; elaborate and promulgate policies and laws at the requests and aspirations, to protect the people's legitimate rights and interests, ensure the promotion of the people's mastery and harmoniously settle interests in society.
- All activities of state agencies, communist party members, officials, civil servants and public employees must serve the people;
Take the well-being and happiness of the people as the goal of striving and measuring work efficiency;
Promptly resolve issues directly related to people's lives, especially issues of people's concern and public opinion;
Strictly implement ethnic and religious policies;
Formulate, perfect, and organize the good implementation of mechanisms and policies to arouse potential and creativity, promote the spirit of dedication to the country of Vietnamese people at home and abroad, and contribute to developing an increasingly prosperous and happy country.
Focus on socio-economic development, constantly improve comprehensively the material and spiritual life of the people;
Organize the good implementation of sustainable social, welfare and poverty reduction policies associated with national target programs, especially for ethnic minorities, mountainous, border, island areas, areas with extremely difficult socio-economic conditions, and disadvantaged people in society;
Encourage just enrichment; adopt mechanisms and policies to ensure fairness, equality and access opportunities for each citizen in the development process, contributing to national development and enjoying development achievements;
Continue to improve welfare policies; the State and society shall provide support and assistance to people in difficult circumstances and difficult socio-economic areas to ensure their welfare;
Authorities at all levels well implement coordination mechanisms and ensure conditions for the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and mass associations to reflect the people's thoughts and aspirations; supervise and criticize society, actively participate in state management, and make suggestions on Party and government development.
Propagate and mobilize the people to unite and emulate the successful implementation of the Party's guidelines and lines, the State's policies and laws;
Perform well the supervisory role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and elected representatives for the operation of state agencies;

Under subsection 1 of Section II of Resolution 43-NQ/TW 2023 of the XIII Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on continuing to promote the tradition and strength of national unity and developing our country to be more prosperous and happy, the viewpoints on great national unity are specified as follows:
1. Viewpoints
- Great national unity is a precious tradition and an important strategic line of the Party; a great source of strength, the decisive factor in winning the cause of developing and defending the Fatherland. The solid foundation of national unity is the alliance between the working class, the peasantry, and the Party-led intelligentsia; is the strong relationship between the Party and the People, the People's trust in the Party, the State and the regime; is solidarity within the Party, solidarity among social strata, between the Vietnamese ethnic community, between religious and non-religious people, between followers of different religions, between Vietnamese people at home and abroad; is the solidarity between the Vietnamese people and the peace-loving and progressive people in the world.
- Developing a prosperous and happy Vietnam and becoming a developed and high-income country by 2045 shall be considered as similar fulcrums to encourage the people to unite and work together for the future of the nation and the happiness of the people.
- Great national unity must be associated with promoting socialist democracy, respecting, ensuring and protecting human rights, citizens' rights and people's mastery in all fields of social life; well settling legitimate rights and interests and improving people's lives; ensuring equality and equality among peoples, social strata and each citizen in accessing opportunities, contributing to the country, and enjoying development achievements.
- Great unity is the cause of the whole people, the responsibility of the Party and the whole political system. Unity in the Party is the nucleus, a solid basis for developing unity in the political system, great national unity and international solidarity. The Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations play a pivotal political role in gathering, uniting and strongly promoting all resources, potentials and creativity of the people for the cause of national construction and defense.
Thus, under Resolution 43-NQ/TW 2023 of the 8th plenum of the XIII Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on continuing to promote the tradition and strength of national unity and developing our country to be more prosperous and happy, the great national unity is the cause of the whole people.
