Regarding the contents of training:
According to the provisions of Clause 1, Article 3 of Circular 02/2019/TT-BTP, depending on the annual compulsory training requirements, the training contents include one or some of the following contents:
- Ethics and professional conduct of lawyers;
- Update and supplement legal knowledge;
- Law practice skills and skills to support law practice activities;
- Management skills in law practice organization.
Regarding the forms of training:
Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 3 of Circular 02/2019/TT-BTP, the training is organized in the form of a professional refresher course for lawyers or an exchange of experience in law practice.

What is the time to participate in training and convert the time to participate in professional training of lawyers in Vietnam?
Pursuant to the provisions of Article 5 of Circular 02/2019/TT-BTP as follows:
Time to participate in training and convert time to participate in training
1. The minimum time for training is 08 hours/year.
2. Lawyers may convert their training time in that year in one of the following cases:
a) Write legal research articles published in domestic or foreign law journals; write books and published textbooks on the ethics and professional conduct of lawyers or law practice skills;
b) Participating in teaching about law, law practice skills, ethics and professional behavior of lawyers at bachelor of law training institutions and law training institutions; participate in teaching refresher courses or exchange experience in law practice in accordance with this Circular;
c) Participating in and completing a judicial title training program;
d) Participating in and completing professional training courses on lawyers and law practice abroad;
dd) Participating in training programs, seminars and seminars for 1 day or more on the contents specified in Article 3 of this Circular organized by the Department of Justice and the Department of Justice Assistance.
3. If a lawyer participating in training is converted according to the provisions of Clause 2 of this Article, 01 time of participation and completion is equal to 08 hours of performing the training obligation.
Thus, the minimum training time is 08 hours/year.
- Lawyers may convert their training time in that year in one of the following cases:

At the same time, if a lawyer participating in training is converted according to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 5 of Circular 02/2019/TT-BTP, 01 time of participation and completion is equal to 08 hours of performing the training obligation.
What are the documents certifying the performance of the obligation to participate in training?
Pursuant to the provisions of Article 7 of Circular 02/2019/TT-BTP on documents certifying the performance of the obligation to participate in professional training of lawyers as follows:
Papers certifying the performance of the obligation to participate in training
1. The certificate of participation in training, made according to the form BDLS-04, issued by the organization specified in Article 4 of this Circular.
2. Journals, books and textbooks that have been published according to the provisions of Point a, Clause 2, Article 5 of this Circular.
3. Written certification or papers certifying that they have participated in the activities specified at Points b, c, d and e, Clause 2, Article 5 of this Circular.
Thus, the document certifying the performance of the obligation to participate in professional training includes:
- Certificate of participation in training according to the form BDLS-04 issued by the organization specified in Article 4 of Circular 02/2019/TT-BTP.
- Journals, books and textbooks have been published according to the provisions of point a, clause 2, Article 5 of Circular 02/2019/TT-BTP.
- A written certification or papers certifying that they have participated in the activities specified at Points b, c, d and dd, Clause 2, Article 5 of Circular 02/2019/TT-BTP.
