According to Section I, Part A, Appendix 28 issued together with Circular 04/2022/TT-BGTVT, the purposes and requirements of professional training for driver instructors in charge of practices from class A1 to A4 are as follows:
Purpose:
The professional training program for driving instructors of classes A1, A2, A3 and A4 equips basic pedagogical knowledge to help driver instructors in charge of practices in effectively conveying knowledge about driving practice to students.
Request:
Through the A1, A2, A3 and A4 classes of driving practice training program:
- Equip instructors in charge of practices with knowledge of pedagogical methods in teaching driving practice.
- Know how to apply fluently and flexibly pedagogical methods to guide the driving practice of classes A1, A2, A3 and A4.

What are the regulations on the training time, the content of testing and assessment on professional skills for instructors in charge of practices from class A1 to A4?
The training time and the content of testing and assessment are specified in Section III, Part A, Appendix 28 issued with Circular 04/2022/TT-BGTVT as follows:
Training time and content:
- The training time organized by the driver training institution must be at least 04 days, of which: the theory content is 02 days; Practical content for 2 days.
- Time of testing organized by the Department of Transport: 01 day.
Testing and assessment method:
- Pedagogical method, method of guiding practice driving: Written exam (90 minutes).
- Theoretical content (on computer).
- Content of driving practice in the picture at the driving test center; Trainees comply with the training driver license class.
What are the regulations on driver training program for candidates in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 12 of Circular 12/2017/TT-BGTVT, A1, A2, A3, A4 class driver training are prescribed as follows:
- Training time
+ A1 class: 12 hours (theory: 10, practice: 02);
+ A2 class: 32 hours (theory: 20, practice: 12);
+ A3, A4 classes: 80 hours (theory: 40, practice: 40).
- Test subjects
+ Law on Road traffic for A2, A3, A4 classes;
+ Driving practice for A3, A4 classes.
- Training program and time distribution
Circular 04/2022/TT-BGTVT takes effect from June 15, 2022.
