+ Categories of investigation and evaluation of soil pollution at the provincial level are lands with sources of pollution, including: agricultural land; unused land (excluding rocky mountains without forests); land planned for urban and rural residential area construction.
(4) Categories of land quality monitoring, land degradation, soil pollution are types of land specified in (1), (3) determined by the network of fixed monitoring points nationwide.
(5) Categories of land investigation and evaluation by specific themes include one or more types of land specified in Article 9 of the Land Law 2024 as determined by competent State authorities to organize the implementation of thematic land investigation and evaluation tasks upon approval.

What is the detailed guidance on preparation of field investigation maps in Vietnam?
Based on Clause 1, Article 19 of Circular 11/2024/TT-BTNMT which regulates the preparation of field investigation maps as follows:
- Edit and standardize elements inherited from the current land use status map according to the provisions in Article 5 of Circular 11/2024/TT-BTNMT;
- Create a layer of information on the inspected land, and a layer of information on the points of investigation of various forms of degradation and related data attribute fields according to the provisions in Part D of Appendix III issued with Circular 11/2024/TT-BTNMT;
- Determine the quantity of inspected land and investigation points as specified in Part B of Appendix III of Circular 11/2024/TT-BTNMT;
- Develop a layer of information for the inspected land: convert, review, standardize and input attributes about soil, topography (slope or relative height), soil layer thickness into the information layer at point b of this clause from collected data, documents, and information; determine the boundary of inspected land and its sequence number in accordance with point b and point c clause 2 Article 5 of Circular 11/2024/TT-BTNMT;
- Develop a layer of information on degradation investigation points: positions of degradation investigation points as specified in point d clause 2 Article 5 of Circular 11/2024/TT-BTNMT; create a schematic diagram of the investigation network of degradation points (positions of degradation investigation points coincide with the positions of soil profile investigation points within the same inspected land) and input their attributes into the information layer at point b of this clause;
- Determine the content of the land inspection task as per field investigation routes on provincial-level areas;
- Update the attribute information of the investigation points for various forms of degradation and the results of the previous land degradation investigation, evaluation (if any) into the inspected land information layer;
- Edit and print field investigation maps.
What are regulations on storage and presentation of data on land surveying, assessment and land conservation and restoration in Vietnam?
Based on Article 7 of Circular 11/2024/TT-BTNMT regulating the storage and presentation of data on land surveying, assessment and land conservation and restoration in Vietnam:
(1) Stored Data
+ Stored data includes: spatial data, attribute data of the investigation network diagram, sampling points, investigation points; information layers of the land investigation, evaluation map; the results of land protection, reclamation, and restoration; information layers of the land protection, reclamation, and restoration results map and other related data (field investigation results; summary reports; a system of forms with land investigation, evaluation results; land protection, reclamation, restoration);
+ The stored data contents of land investigation, evaluation; stored data of land protection, reclamation, restoration as specified in Table No. 04/QDC of Appendix I issued along with Circular 11/2024/TT-BTNMT.
(2) Storage Data Format
+ Data is stored in digital form;
+ Storage data files in one of the formats including: *.pdf, *.docx, *.xlsx, *.shp, *.gdb, *.qdb, *.xml, *.gml, *.json, *.geojson. Files must be in an open format, allowing editing, information updating when necessary, ensuring data integrity during format and structure conversion;
+ The structure and type of information of the stored data are specified in Part D of Appendix II, Part D of Appendix III, Part D of Appendix IV, Part D of Appendix V, and Table No. 05/BVD of Appendix VI issued along with Circular 11/2024/TT-BTNMT.
(3) Presentation Data
+ Presentation data is organized by information layers, fully representing the attributes of inspected land, in which the boundaries of land in the same evaluation criterion system are identified within the same map information layer;
+ Presentation data files of land investigation results; data presenting the results of land protection, reclamation, homestead restoration in one of the formats: *.wor, *.mxd, *.mpk, *.qgz.
