In Clause 5, Article 1 of the Law on Amendments to Law on People's Public Security Force 2023 amending Article 30 of the Law on People's Public Security Force 2018 as follows:
Permissible age limits of non-commissioned officers and officers of the People's Public Security Force
1. The permissible maximum age limits of non-commissioned officers and commissioned officers of the People's Public Security Force shall be subject to the following regulations:
a) Non-commissioned officers: 47;
b) Company-grade officers: 55;
c) Major and Lieutenant-Colonel: Male: 57; Female: 55;
d) Senior Lieutenant Colonel: Male: 60; Female: 58;
dd) Colonel: Male: 62; Female: 60;
e) General-grade officers: Male: 62; Female: 60.
1a. Permissible age limits of male commissioned officers prescribed at points dd and e, and female commissioned officers prescribed at points d and dd Clause 1 of this Article shall be implemented according to the roadmap to retirement age for workers according to the Labor Code.
The Government of Vietnam shall elaborate this Clause.

3. Based on the demands of police units, if the commissioned officers prescribed at points b, c and d Clause 1 of this Article meet all professional quality, expertise and health requirements and of their own free will, they may be entitled to an extension of their service age according to the regulations of the Minister of Public Security, but not more than 62 for males and 60 for females.
The service age of commissioned officers prescribed in Clause 1 of this Article may be extended to more than 62 for males and more than 60 for females in special cases under competent authorities' decisions.
4. People's Public Security officers, who are professors, associate professors, doctors and senior experts, may be granted an extension of service age to more than 62 years of age for males and over 60 years of age for females according to the Government's regulations.”

Pursuant to Clause 1a, Article 30 of the Law on People's Public Security Force 2018 supplemented by Article 1 of the Law on Amendments to Law on People's Public Security Force 2023, the roadmap of retirement ages of female officers holding Senior Lieutenant Colonel rank will comply with the roadmap of retirement ages for employees as prescribed by the Labor Code.
Specifically, this content is guided in Clause 1, Article 3a of Decree 49/2019/ND-CP supplemented by Clause 2, Article 1 of Decree 57/2023/ND-CP as follows:
Maximum age limits of female officers holding Senior Lieutenant Colonel and Colonel ranks; male officers holding Colonel rank and being General-grade officers; police workers
1. From August 15, 2023 to December 31, 2023, the maximum age limit for female officers holding Senior Lieutenant Colonel rank is 56 years; from January 1, 2024, every year, there is a 4-month increase until reaching 58 years of age in 2029 determined according to the following roadmap:
The comparison of the month and year of birth of female officers holding Senior Lieutenant Colonel rank with the maximum age limit specified in this Clause shall comply with Appendix I promulgated together with this Decree.
Thus, the roadmap of retirement ages of female officers holding Senior Lieutenant Colonel rank in Vietnam under the Labor Code is specified as follows:
- From August 15, 2023 to December 31, 2023, the maximum age limit for female officers holding Senior Lieutenant Colonel rank is 56 years; From January 1, 2024, every 4-month increase in each year until reaching 58 years of age in 2029 is determined according to the following roadmap:
- From January 1, 2024, every year, there is a 4-month increase until reaching 58 years of age in 2029.
