Code and classification of professional titles of officials specialized in physical education and sports
1. Senior Coach (Class I) Code: V.10.01.01.
2. Head Coach (Class II) Code: V.10.01.02.
3. Coach (Class III) Code: V.10.01.03.
4. Tour guide (class IV) Code: V.10.01.04.

What are the qualifications for being a senior coach in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Article 3 of Joint Circular 13/2014/TTLT-BVHTTDL-BNV stipulating that the criteria for becoming a senior coach (Grade I) must satisfy the following criteria:

- Professional ethical standards:

+ Having a high sense of responsibility, passion, enthusiasm for assigned work, always complying with the law, properly and fully performing the obligations of employees in professional activities; constantly study to improve professional qualifications, actively research and actively apply scientific achievements in coaching in order to improve the quality of training and coaching athletes to contribute to improving sports competition performance;

+ Always be an exemplary example of moral qualities and living styles; ready to overcome all difficulties and hardships for the cause of training and coaching athletes; exemplary, respectful, culturally behave with the tournament organizers, referees, coaches and athletes of your team; directing athletes to compete in sports with a noble spirit, putting national prestige and honor first;

+ Being objective, having clear opinions and professional capacity in the selection of athletes; strictly abide by and creatively apply professional standards and athlete selection standards to ensure the selection of the best sports talents; prudence in all decisions to minimize errors affecting the training process and the development of athletes' physical and mental strength, avoiding occupational accidents;

+ Working scientifically, independently, autonomously, not for any material or spiritual interests that affect the honesty and professional independence; actively struggles with negative behaviors;

+ Taking care of the comprehensive development of athletes; linking professional training and training with the education of cultural, political and moral qualities; build good relationships with athletes, guide athletes dedicatedly and thoughtfully, help build a united and cordial athlete collective; educating athletes in lifestyles and activities towards truthfulness - compassion - beauty; participate in and mobilize people to participate in activities to protect the legitimate rights and interests of athletes;

+ Absolutely respecting and protecting important information affecting the training; preservation of state secrets within the scope of its expertise.

- Standards of training and retraining qualifications:

+ Having a bachelor's degree in physical education and sports or higher;

+ Have foreign language proficiency level 3 (B1)

+ Having computer skills meeting basic information technology skills;

+ Having a certificate of professional training, the title of senior coach (Grade I).

- Standards of professional competence and expertise:

+ Be aware of and master the guidelines, viewpoints, guidelines and policies of the Party and the State's laws on physical training and sports development with high performance;

+ Deep understanding of physical education theory and methods; sports coaching doctrine; firmly grasp and regularly update techniques, tactics and trends of technical and tactical development of intensive sports in the country and in the world;

+ Understand knowledge of education, psychology, biomedical exercise, sports, nutrition, use of adjuvants and regulations on anti-doping in sports training and competitions;

+ Being aware of and properly applying the provisions of the competition rules of the sport; Charters, organizational and operational regulations of sports federations domestically and internationally;

+ Know how to check sports medicine and first aid for injuries for athletes in sports training and competitions;

+ Ability to research and develop sports development strategies, plans, sports training plans at the level of sports teams of provinces, centrally-run cities or branches or higher; Ability to direct and organize coordination with colleagues in professional activities to improve the quality of sports training;

+ Ability to propose creative solutions, initiatives or scientific research works directly applied in training work recognized by agencies, units of provinces, centrally-run cities or equivalent or higher;

+ Having training achievements of athletes winning gold medals at SEA Games (or Southeast Asian sports championships), or medals at ASIAD (or Asian championships), or medals at Olympic Games (or world championships);

+ Officials promoted to the title of senior coach (Grade I) must have worked for the title of head coach (Grade II) or equivalent for full 6 years or more, but must have a salary period of the title of head coach (Grade II) for at least 12 months from the time of submitting the application for the promotion contest for the coaching title senior member (class I).

What are the duties of a senior coach in Vietnam?

Pursuant to the provisions of Clause 1 Article 3 of Joint Circular 13/2014/TTLT-BVHTTDL-BNV stipulating the duties of senior coaches as follows:

- Preside over or participate in the development of long-term and medium-term strategies and plans on sports development; plans and training programs of national sports youth teams and sports teams of provinces and centrally-run cities and branches;

- Preside over or participate in presiding over the selection and management of athletes; directly train athletes in technique, tactics, physical strength, psychological, volitional and moral training; directing athletes in charge to participate in national and international sports competitions;

- Responsible for implementing regulations on ensuring safety and hygiene in training, competition and medical examination for athletes;

- Preside over or participate in presiding over the elaboration of scientific topics related to training and training of high-level athletes of ministries, provinces and centrally-run cities; organize the research and application of science and technology and modern training methods in the selection and training of athletes;

- Coordinate the implementation of political, ideological and moral education for athletes; care for spiritual life; health; nutritious diets according to the requirements of training and competition of the sport; conditions of accommodation, rest and cultural and professional learning to help athletes be confident and in good health to practice and compete;
