What is a receipt?
Currently, there is not any document that stipulates the concept of receipt, so it can be understood simply that a receipt is a document showing the delivery and receipt between two parties with full signature. In many cases and specific situations, receipts will include additional witness information to increase the likelihood of greater credibility.
After filling in all information on the receipt, one party delivering the money, the other party counting the money fully, the money receiving party is responsible for signing the receipt.
Usually, the receipt must be made in two copies so that each party keeps one copy. The fact that each party keeps a copy will be the basis for proving the successful financial transaction and the basis for resolving problems when a dispute arises. Having additional evidence will increase the value of the Receipt in the event of a dispute.

Features of the receipt form?
A form of receipt usually includes information such as: Time, place of setting up the paper, full names of both parties receiving and delivering money, citizen identification / national identity card or valid identification photos of both parties, content of money delivery. If there is additional evidence in the receipt form, it will increase the value of the receipt if there is a dispute.
For the regulations on witnesses in the receipt, the witness must also provide full personal information such as: Full name, identity card or citizen identification. At the same time, the witness must be a witness to the entire transaction process of the two parties and the witness content must confirm that the transaction is completely on a voluntary basis, without any coercive factors.
Regulations on witnesses in the receipt form?
As for the regulations on witnesses in the receipt form, there are currently no specific regulations. However, Article 77 of the 2015 Civil Procedure Code of Vietnam provides for specific witnesses as follows:
"Article 77. Witnesses
Persons who know details related to the contents of cases may be summoned by Courts at the request of the involved parties to participate in the procedures in the capacity as witnesses. Persons who lose their civil act capacity cannot act as witnesses."
According to that, a person who has lost his/her civil act capacity will not be able to be a witness.
