Who will be applying for re-education in the 2022-2023 school year of Vietnam?

Pursuant to Article 4 of the Regulations issued together with Decision 51/2002/QD-BGDDT of 2002 stipulates as follows:

Subjects who transfer schools and apply for re-education.
1. Transfer school:
a) The student relocates according to his or her parent or guardian.
b) Students who have extremely difficult family circumstances or have a really good reason to transfer schools.
2. Re-study:
Students apply to re-study after the break but are still within the specified age of each school level.

Accordingly, students who have missed school in the previous time but are still within the prescribed age of each school level will be applied for re-education in the 2022-2023 school year.

What documents do you include for students in the 2022-2023 school year of Vietnam?

Pursuant to Clause 1, Article 6 of the Regulations promulgated together with Decision 51/2002/QD-BGDDT of 2002 stipulates as follows:

Article 6.- Dossiers and procedures for re-study application
1. Dossiers of re-study application
a/ The re-study application, signed by the pupil concerned.
b/ The study result register of the grade or educational level already completed (the original).
c/ The diploma of the lower educational level (a notarized copy).
d/ The written certification by the administration of the pupils' residence place of his/her observance of the State's policies and laws.

According to the above provisions, in the school year 2022-2023, students wishing to go back to school will have to prepare a re-education application, including an application for re-study, transcripts, diplomas of lower education levels, certificates from the local government of their place of residence on law enforcement.

How is the re-application procedure for students in the 2022-2023 school year carried out in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 6 of the Regulations promulgated together with Decision 51/2002/QD-BGDDT of 2002 stipulates as follows:

2. Re-study application procedures.
a/ Cases of application for re-study at former schools:
The principals of the schools shall permit the pupils to study at their schools after checking their dossiers.
b/ Cases of application for re-study at other schools:
The dossiers shall be supplemented and procedures be carried out as for pupils changing schools.
c/ Cases of application for re-study at the first grade of the senior secondary education level:
Thus, if the student applies again to the old school, the principal of the old school will allow the student to go back to school.
If a student applies to another school, the application and re-application procedure shall be carried out in accordance with the regulations for transfer students.

Considering Article 5 of the Regulations promulgated together with Decision 51/2002/QD-BGDDT in 2022 , some provisions are repealed by Clause 1 Article 2 of Circular 50/2021/TT-BGDDT, some phrases are replaced by Clause 2 Article 2 of Circular 50/2021/TT-BGDDT stipulating as follows:

Records and procedures for transferring schools.
1. A transfer dossier includes:
a) The transfer application is signed by the parent or guardian.
b) School transcript (original).
dd) The certificate of admission to the first grade of upper secondary school specifies the type of school to be recruited (public or private).
e) A referral for transfer shall be issued by the principal of the school where he/she is going.
f) A transfer referral issued by the Head of Education and Training Department (for lower secondary school level); Director of the Department of Education and Training (for upper secondary level) of the place of departure (in case of application for transfer from another province or city).
2. Transfer procedures:
a) For lower secondary school students:
Transfer school in the same province or city: The principal of the school where he/she arrives receives the dossier and considers and settles it according to the regulations of the Director of the Department of Education and Training.
Transfer schools from other provinces and cities: The Department of Education and Training of the destination receives and introduces the school by place of residence, with the checked dossier.
b) For high school students:
Transfer school in the same province or city. The principal of the school where the destination receives the dossier and considers and settles it according to the regulations of the Director of the Department of Education and Training.
Transfer schools from other provinces and cities: The Department of Education and Training of the destination receives, checks documents and introduces the school.

Accordingly, in case a student applies for re-study at another school, he/she will prepare the dossier and carry out the procedure for re-applying for re-study according to the above provisions.
