TOEIC test structure? Score scale and how to calculate TOEIC score?
Structure of the TOEIC test
A traditional TOEIC test consists of two parts:
Part 1 – Listening: The listening test is used to test candidates' English listening skills, including 100 questions, these questions are read directly on the cassette (not printed on the test). Candidates have a total of 45 minutes to listen and fill in the answer options.
Part 2 – Reading: The reading section is used to test English vocabulary, grammar and reading comprehension of short passages. This section consists of 100 questions printed directly on the test paper, and candidates have a total of 75 minutes to work on the test.
Thus, a complete TOEIC test consists of 200 questions and candidates will need to complete in 120 minutes or 2 hours.
Similar to the scale in normal Vietnamese tests from 0 to 10. The TOEIC score scale is a scorecard calculated from 0 to 990 TOEIC is used to evaluate the foreign language test including 2 skills: Reading and Listening. In which, with each skill, the maximum score is 495 points.
In Vietnam today, the TOEIC test is organized to test 2 skills Reading and Listening. In addition, you can also take the TOEIC Speaking and Writing tests to assess your spoken and written English. The TOEIC score scale applied to this test is calculated from 0 to 400 TOEIC points. The maximum score for each skill is 200 points.
Your TOEIC score will be calculated based on each correct answer. And no points will be deducted if you answer incorrectly. The more correct answers you get, the higher the score.
However, note that not every sentence is equal. There will be difficult and easy questions, so the difference in scores is understandable. Usually, if you can answer the difficult 5326 questions, you will get a higher score than the easy one.
Besides, the content in different exams will also be different. The number of difficult and easy questions in the test also has a certain change.
