Can an account out of money pass the ETC lane in Vietnam?
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Directive 39/CT-TTG 2020, which stipulates on speeding up the implementation progress and increasing the use of ETC services, accordingly:
- Implement terminal tags for road vehicles at the latest inspection, or as soon as they pass through a road user service toll station that has operated a ETC system.
- Do not drive a vehicle to enter the door dedicated to ETC without stopping when the vehicle has not been tagged or has a terminal card but the amount in the toll account is not enough to pay for the fee.
- Actively cooperate with functional forces and relevant units at toll stations; no acts of disturbing or obstructing toll collection activities, especially at stations that have installed and operated the ETC system.
Thus, in case the amount in the ETC account is not enough to pay for the toll transaction, it is not allowed to drive the vehicle to enter the separate lane for ETC.

To check the balance of VETC's ETC account, you can do it through the following methods:
- Use user (traffic account number) and password (sent to customer's mobile number) to log in to VETC mobile application or on VETC's website to check.

- Call directly to the Customer Care hotline 19006010
