What should be noted when recording identity declaration for overseas Vietnamese citizens who have lost their passports in Vietnam?

Based on the contents of the Footnote according to the form TK03 issued together with Circular 68/2022/TT-BCA, when recording a declaration of identity confirmation for overseas Vietnamese citizens who have lost their passports, the following contents should be noted:

The procedure for issuing personnel certificates of Vietnamese citizens abroad includes the following steps:

Step 1: Prepare documents in accordance with the law.

Comprise:

- 01 Declaration of request for identity confirmation for overseas Vietnamese citizens who have lost their passports;

+ 02 new photos taken of overseas Vietnamese citizens who lost their passports, size 4cm x 6cm;

+ Documents proving the relationship of the person applying for a personnel certificate with relatives abroad who have lost their passports; in case there is no proof document, there must be an explanation.

+ Valid identity card, citizen identity card or passport of the person requesting personnel confirmation for relatives to check and compare.

Step 2: Apply

- Vietnamese citizens in the country wishing to certify personnel for relatives who are abroad for a limited time, who have lost their ordinary passports wishing to return home immediately to carry out passport issuance procedures, shall apply at one of the two offices of the Immigration Department - Ministry of Public Security:

+ No. 44-46 Tran Phu Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi City.

+ No. 333-335-337 Nguyen Trai Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

- Time to receive applications: from 2nd to 7th morning every week (except Tet, public holidays).

- The officer receiving the dossier checks the legality and content of the dossier:

+ If it is complete and reasonable, then receive the dossier, issue an appointment to return the results and request to pay the fee to the fee collection officer. The fee collector receives the money, delivers the fee receipt to the applicant.

+ If the dossier is not valid, the dossier-receiving officer shall guide the applicant to supplement it fully as prescribed.

Step 3: Get results

- The person who proposes to certify personnel for relatives directly receives the results at the Immigration Department, Ministry of Public Security.

- Time to return results: from 2nd to 6th every week (except Tet, public holidays).
