Regulations on the structure of textbooks of Vietnam?

Pursuant to Article 7 of the Regulation promulgated together with Circular 33/2017/TT-BGDDT on the structure of textbooks:

"Article 7. Textbook structure
1. Textbook structure has all the following basic components: section, chapter or topic; lesson; terminology explanation; Table of contents.
2. The lesson structure in the textbook includes the following basic components: introduction, new knowledge, practice, and application."

Thus, the structure of the textbook includes the content as prescribed above.

Pursuant to Article 9 of the Regulation promulgated together with Circular 33/2017/TT-BGDDT (This is amended by Clause 2, Article 1 of Circular 05/2022/TT-BGDĐT) on compilation and revision of textbooks faculty:

"Article 9. The process of compiling and editing textbooks
1. Textbook compilation process
“a) Organizations and individuals compiling textbooks shall select authors to compile textbooks meeting the criteria specified in Article 11 of this Circular; the author studies the general education program promulgated by the Minister of Education and Training to develop the overall outline, detailed outline, and compilation plan; assigning tasks of the editor-in-chief and editor (if the book has a chief editor or editor), the author ensures the suitability of the workload and execution time to ensure the quality and completion schedule. textbook templates;
b) Organizations and individuals compiling textbooks organize the compilation, editing, designing, illustrating, completing at least 01 (one) lesson, organizing experimental teaching, giving comments after experimental teaching to complete that lesson with the contribution and agreement of all authors before organizing the compilation of other lessons; organizing compilation, editing, designing, illustrating, teaching experiments, organizing consultations with teachers, education administrators, scientists, and educators knowledgeable about general education to comment, evaluate the textbook samples according to the content of each clause specified in Articles 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of this Circular (specific requirements are according to the criteria for evaluating textbooks attached to this Circular); complete the textbook template and send it to the Ministry of Education and Training for evaluation;
c) The Ministry of Education and Training organizes the appraisal of textbook samples according to the provisions of Chapter IV of this Circular;
d) Organizations and individuals compiling textbooks complete the textbook templates after appraisal;
dd) The Minister of Education and Training approves and permits the use of textbooks;
e) Organizations and individuals compiling textbooks, publishing and distributing textbooks according to the provisions of law.”.
2. Textbook experimental requirements and procedures
a) For each textbook sample, select lessons to organize a representative experiment on the type of lesson, showing new points in terms of content, methods and forms of teaching organization according to the subject program. study, educational activities; organize experiments with at least 10% of the total number of periods for subjects and educational activities with 105 periods/year or more, at least 15% of the total number of periods for subjects and educational activities with from 70 lessons/school year to less than 105 periods/school year, at least 20% of the total number of periods for the remaining subjects and educational activities; each lesson is taught experimentally at least 02 (two) times, after the first experimental teaching, organize to draw experience and revise the lesson before organizing the second experimental teaching;
b) The general education institution selected to organize experimental teaching ensures the representativeness of the region; the class of students selected to organize experimental teaching belongs to the class with the textbooks being tested; Experimental teaching is carried out for students in the whole class at a time suitable to the students' ability. Teaching teachers and teachers participating in experimental teaching are those who are directly teaching subjects with experimental textbooks; for each experimental lesson, there must be at least 03 (three) teachers to attend and contribute to the experimental lesson;
c) Organizations and individuals compiling textbooks shall evaluate the experimental lessons according to the content of each clause (except for the contents not shown in the lesson) as prescribed in Articles 4, 5, 6, and 6 of this Article 7 and Article 8 of this Circular (specific requirements according to the textbook evaluation criteria attached to this Circular)
3. Textbook editing process
a) During use, textbooks can be edited;
b) The textbook editing process is the same as the textbook compilation process specified in Clause 1 of this Article, except for the regulations on textbook experimentation. The case where an experiment must be conducted with the revised textbook shall be decided by the Minister of Education and Training.
4. The Minister of Education and Training shall decide specifically the process of compiling and editing textbooks specified in Clauses 1, 2 and 3 of this Article, for the compilation and editing of textbooks. using the state budget”.
