Why Did the Salaries of Professional Military Personnel Increase After the Wage Reform? Which Income Components Contributed to the Salary Increase?
Why has the salary of professional military personnel increased after the salary reform? What income sources contribute to the salary increase?
In Resolution 27/NQ-TW of 2018, the content of the reform for the military and police is as follows:
A new salary system based on job position, title, and leadership will be developed and issued to replace the current salary system; the old salary will be converted to the new salary, ensuring it is not lower than the current salary being received.
Thus, according to the above content, after the implementation of the salary reform from July 1, 2024, professional military personnel will receive a salary based on job position, replacing the current salary system, and it will not be lower than the current salary being received.
The salary table for professional military personnel is specified in sub-item 3.1, Item 3, Part II of Resolution 27-NQ/TW of 2018, which regulates the reform content of the new salary structure design as follows:
- Basic salary- Allowances- Additional bonuses
Thus, starting from July 1, 2024, professional military personnel may receive additional income from bonuses (if any) (the bonus fund is about 10% of the total annual salary fund, excluding allowances).
Additionally, starting from 2025, the salary will continue to be adjusted by an average increase of 7% per year for officials and public employees and the armed forces until the lowest salary is equal to or higher than the minimum salary of region I in the enterprise sector.
Therefore, the salary of professional military personnel according to Resolution 27-NQ/TW of 2018 will be increased by an average of 7% per year until the lowest salary equals or exceeds the minimum salary of region I in the enterprise sector.
However, the specific increase in the salary of professional military personnel at present remains uncertain. This is because the increase in salary depends on various factors: salary table, allowances, bonuses, etc.
