Conduct and dress code of teachers and staff

1. The conduct and dress code of teachers and staff must comply with the regulations of the education sector and the law. Particularly, the following should be noted:

a) Do not distort educational content or teach incorrect knowledge.

b) Do not commit fraud in assessments or intentionally misinterpret students' educational results.

c) Do not compel students to take extra lessons for material gain.

d) Do not skip classes, skip teaching sessions, or arbitrarily cut educational content.

dd) Do not disrespect the dignity and honor of others; do not smoke; drink alcohol or beer; cause disturbances or security disorders.

2. Staff must not obstruct or cause difficulties in supporting, serving the teaching, education of students, and other school duties.

Thus, based on the above regulations, the conduct and dress code of teachers and staff must comply with the regulations of the education sector and the law, with particular attention to the following:

- Do not distort educational content or teach incorrect knowledge.

Annually, teachers will conduct self-assessments and be periodically evaluated by the school according to the professional standards for primary school teachers to form the basis for planning further education and professional development.

3. The standard qualifications for staff at primary schools are stipulated in documents detailing the job position standards for each staff role.

Thus, according to the aforementioned regulations, the standard qualification for primary school teachers is a bachelor's degree in primary education or a relevant bachelor's degree along with a certificate in primary education pedagogy.

What are the duties of teachers in primary schools in Vietnam?

Based on Clause 1, Article 27 of the Charter of Primary Schools issued with Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT, the duties of teachers in primary schools are as follows:

- Implement the primary education curriculum and the school's education plan. Proactively execute and be responsible for the education plan; exercise autonomy and accountability concerning professional tasks (content, teaching methods, student assessment) and the quality and effectiveness of educating each student under their charge, ensuring adherence to the educational program regulations, suitable to the students' profiles and the school's specific conditions.

- Participate in the development of educational plans for the subject group and the school; regularly update sector directives; prepare, organize teaching, and assess students as prescribed; engage in other professional activities.

- Build friendly, democratic relationships between teachers and students, with students' parents, and with the community; help students to be proactive, creative, confident, and autonomous in learning and training.

- Maintain the dignity, honor, and prestige of educators; exhibit cultural conduct; foster solidarity and assist colleagues; set a good example for students; love, treat fairly, and respect students; protect students' legitimate rights and interests.

- Conduct self-assessment according to professional standards; engage in continuous professional development; participate in regular teacher training as mandated; share professional expertise with colleagues inside and outside the school through professional activities and training sessions.

- Apply information technology in teaching, learning, and professional activities; exhibit creativity and flexibility in creating teaching aids.

- Participate in the selection of textbooks as prescribed; propose that the school equip appropriate reference publications and teaching tools for use in the teaching process.

- Engage in educational quality accreditation.

- Participate in enforcing compulsory education, popularizing education, and eradicating illiteracy in the local area.

- Coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, students' families, the community, and related social organizations to implement educational tasks.

- Manage and organize the implementation of the education plan at school sites as assigned by the principal.

- Perform other duties as prescribed by law and as assigned by the principal.
