Pursuant to subsection 1, Section 2, the plan promulgated together with Decision 129/QD-BGTVT in 2023 clearly states the contents of the 2nd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2023 as follows:

Agencies and units based on the actual situation to organize activities to respond to the 2nd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2023 at their agencies and units according to specific contents such as:

- Organize the announcement of the Prime Minister's Decision No. 1826/QD-TTg and the series of activities of the 2nd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2023 (from April 15 to May 1, 2023).

- Organize "Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day" according to each topic associated with the functions and state management of the transport sector such as:

(1) Ho Chi Minh's thought on transportation,

(2) Upholding the tradition of going ahead to pave the way for the transportation industry,

(3) History of road, railway, maritime, aviation, inland waterway transport in Vietnam...; organize book clubs; launching and replicating the model: Bookcases of offices and schools; community bookcase; instruction in reading skills.

- Organize contests: Ambassador of Reading Culture; tell stories and follow books; art book arrangement; propaganda, introduction and promotion of books.

- Organizing exhibitions/book fairs.

- Donate books and reading equipment for poor children, support libraries in remote, border and island areas and social protection beneficiaries, etc.

- Other activities associated with books, suitable to the functions, tasks and actual situation at agencies and units.

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 1 of the Plan issued together with Decision 129/QD-BGTVT in 2023 clearly stating the purpose of organizing the 2nd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2023 as follows:

- In order to create a deep response in the whole transportation industry, promote the value of books and reading culture in the community; contributing to building cultural and spiritual life, promoting the nation's moral values and studious traditions.

- Organize activities of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in a diversified and rich manner, combining traditional activities with modern organizational methods according to the development trend of electronic publishing; apply digital transformation information technology to create new values.

When will the 2nd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2023 be held?

Pursuant to subsection 2, Section 2, of the Plan issued together with Decision 129/QD-BGTVT in 2023 stipulating the time and place to organize the 2nd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day as follows:

- Activities to respond to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day are held from March to the end of April every year.

- The main activities of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day will be organized from April 15 to May 1, 2023 with the message "Books: Awareness - Innovation - Creation"; "Books for me, books for you".

- Agencies and units shall base themselves on the actual situation to organize activities to respond to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day at their agencies and units at an appropriate time and place.

What are the organizational tasks of the agencies and units under the Ministry and the schools and academies under the Ministry?

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 3 stipulating the organizational tasks of agencies and units under the Ministry and schools and academies under the Ministry as follows:

Agencies and units under the Ministry

- Based on functions, tasks and actual requirements, develop plans and implement activities to respond to the 2nd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2023 in various forms.

- Promote information and propaganda about Book Day and Vietnam Reading Culture, integrate response activities, associated with political, cultural and spiritual activities of agencies and units.

- Agencies and units shall base themselves on the actual situation and requirements of professional tasks to establish bookcases at agencies and units, including the following contents: policies, guidelines and resolutions of the Party and policies and laws of the State; traditional transport sector; system of legal documents of branches and domains; Newspapers, magazines, notebooks, etc.

- The archives department of agencies and units shall review and keep books, newspapers, magazines, journals and documents under the guidance of the National Archives in order to serve search when necessary.

- Launch and organize a program to collect books, support books and documents, and support children and people in disadvantaged areas, remote and border areas, islands, etc. The locality where the project is passing is managed by the agency or unit.

Schools and Institutes under the Ministry

- Organizing the 2nd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day activities in 2023 in association with the training and cultural activities of students in the school.

- Continuing to improve the quality of library activities, regularly adding new titles in the fields of teaching and learning as well as legal and cultural books.

- Launching the reading movement in the school library, organizing the introduction of books, guiding information search skills and reading skills, choosing books to suit the purpose; organize book clubs with extracurricular activities. Organizing contests: Ambassador of Reading Culture; tell stories and follow books; art books.

- Launching and organizing movements and programs to collect books, support books, and support schools in remote, border and island areas and social protection beneficiaries in difficult areas.

- Organizing other events to build a reading culture for students.
