What does the application for temporary residence extension for persons with visa-free entry documents at provincial agencies in Vietnam include?

Pursuant to subsection 1, Section B, Part II, the procedures issued together with Decision 6968/QD-BCA in 2022, the application for temporary residence extension for persons with visa-free entry documents at provincial agencies in Vietnam includes:

- Passport or document valid for international travel or documents authorizing permanent residence issued by competent authorities of foreign countries to overseas Vietnamese.

- 01 application form for visa, temporary residence extension (Form NA5).

- 01 new photo, size 4cm x 6cm, white background, straight face, bare head, no stained glasses.

- Visa-free entry document.

In case of online application, a passport or document valid for international travel or documents authorizing permanent residence issued by competent authorities of foreign countries to overseas Vietnamese must be sent via the public postal service to the receiving agency; other components of the application must be electronically authenticated according to regulations. In case they have not been electronically authenticated, the application shall be sent to the receiving agency through the public postal service.

What are the procedures for temporary residence extension for persons with visa-free entry documents at provincial agencies in Vietnam?

Pursuant to subsection 1, Section B, Part II, the procedure issued together with Decision 6968/QD-BCA in 2022, the procedures for temporary residence extension for persons with visa-free entry documents at provincial agencies in Vietnam shall be carried out as follows:

Step 1: Prepare the application in accordance with the provisions of the law.

Step 2: Submit the application directly during office hours on weekdays at the Provincial Police Immigration Agency or submit the application through the National Public Service Portal or the Public Service Portal of the Ministry of Public Security and send additional documents via the public postal service as notified by the Provincial Police Immigration Agency on National Public Service Portal or the Public Service Portal of Ministry of Public Security Public (if any).

- The officer receiving the application checks the legality and content of the application:

+ In case the application is complete and valid, an appointment letter shall be issued to return the result to the applicant; requests the applicant to pay fees to the fee collector before the fee collector hands over the receipt of collection to her/him, or notifies on the National Public Service Portal or the Public Service Portal of the Ministry of Public Security so that the applicant pays online and receives the electronic receipt.

+ In case the application is missing or invalid, the officer receiving the application shall guide or notify the National Public Service Portal or the Public Service Portal of the Ministry of Public Security for the applicant to complete the application.

+ In case the application is not eligible, the officer receiving the application shall not receive the application, respond in writing, or notify it on the National Public Service Portal or the Public Service Portal of the Ministry of Public Security and clearly state the reasons.

* In case the application is submitted through the National Public Service Portal or the Public Service Portal of the Ministry of Public Security but falls under the jurisdiction of the Immigration Department, the information shall be transferred to the Immigration Department and notified to the applicant.

- In case of an online application, the applicant can request to receive the results through the postal service and pay delivery service fees.

- Time to receive applications: From Monday to Saturday morning every week (except Tet, public holidays).

Step 3: Returns the result:

+ The applicant shall receive the results directly at the Provincial Police Immigration Agency. When coming to receive the results, bring an appointment letter and identification documents to check and compare. In case of receiving results via postal services, the applicant follows the instructions of the postal service provider.

+ In case of refusal, reply in writing or notify the National Public Service Portal or the Public Service Portal of the Ministry of Public Security and clearly state the reasons.

+ Time to return results: From Monday to Friday every week (except Tet, public holidays).

Pursuant to subsection 1, Section B, Part II, the procedures issued together with Decision 6968/QD-BCA in 2022, the conditions for temporary residence extension for persons with visa-free entry documents in Vietnam are as follows:

- Have a passport or document valid for international travel valid for at least 01 year.

- A person entering the country with a visa-free entry document guaranteed by agencies, organizations, and individuals in Vietnam with good reasons

- Do not fall into the cases of non-entry and temporary suspension of exit as prescribed in Article 21 of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of foreigners in Vietnam 2014 and Article 28 of the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of foreigners in Vietnam 2014
