What documents are included in the dossier for the issuance of a Certificate of Copyright Registration?
Pursuant to Subsection 1, Section I, Part I of the administrative procedures issued together with Decision 3684/QD-BVHTTDL of 2022 as follows:
(1) Copyright registration declaration form (Form No. 01 issued together with Circular 08/2016/TT-BVHTTDL dated July 2, 2016, which regulates templates for copyright registration, and related rights).
Note, the declaration form must be made in Vietnamese and signed by the author, owner of the copyright, or a duly authorized representative. It must contain complete information about the applicant, author, and copyright owner; a summary of the work’s content; the name of the author and the work used to create a derivative work if the registered work is a derivative work; the time, place, and form of publication; and a statement of responsibility for the information provided in the application;
(2) Two copies of the work for which copyright registration is sought;
(3) Power of attorney, if the applicant is a representative;
(4) Documents proving the right to file an application, if the applicant derives such rights from inheritance, transfer, or succession;
(5) Agreement of co-authors, if the work has co-authors;
(6) Agreement of co-owners, if the copyright belongs to joint ownership.
What is the procedure for issuing a Certificate of Copyright Registration?
Pursuant to Subsection 1, Section I, Part I of the administrative procedures issued together with Decision 3684/QD-BVHTTDL of 2022 as follows:
Step 1: The author, copyright owner can directly, or authorize an organization or another individual, submit one copyright registration dossier at the headquarters of the Copyright Office, or at the Representative Office for Copyright Registration and Related Rights in Ho Chi Minh City, or at the Representative Office for Copyright Registration and Related Rights in Da Nang.
Step 2: Within 15 working days from the date of receipt of a complete and valid application, the Copyright Office will issue the Certificate of Copyright Registration. In case of refusal to issue the Certificate, the Office must notify the applicant in writing.

How much is the fee for issuing a Copyright Registration Certificate?

- Fee for issuing a Copyright Registration Certificate: 100,000 VND per certificate. This fee applies to the following types of works:
+ Literary, scientific works, textbooks, syllabuses, and other works expressed in written or other character forms (collectively referred to as literary works);
+ Lectures, speeches, and other spoken works;
+ Journalistic works;
+ Musical works;
+ Photographic works.
- Fee for issuing a Copyright Registration Certificate: 300,000 VND per certificate. This fee applies to the following types of works:
+ Architectural works;
+ Diagrams, charts, maps, drawings related to topography and scientific works.
- Fee for issuing a Copyright Registration Certificate: 400,000 VND per certificate. This fee applies to the following types of works:
+ Fine art works;
+ Applied fine art works.
- Fee for issuing a Copyright Registration Certificate: 500,000 VND per certificate. This fee applies to the following types of works:
+ Cinematographic works;
+ Stage works recorded on tapes or discs.
- Fee for issuing a Copyright Registration Certificate for computer programs, data collections, or software running on computers: 600,000 VND per certificate.
