Based on Official Dispatch 1515/BGDDT-QLCL, 2023 regarding guidelines for organizing the 2023 High School Graduation Exam. To be specific:
- From May 4, 2023, to 5:00 PM on May 13, 2023: 12th-grade students register for the High School Graduation Exam online.
- Before May 13: Review and update the information of students (referred to as students) in grade 12 on the sector database (CSDL).
- From May 14-19: Review, check, and correct candidates' information (if any).
- Before May 22: Print the list of registered candidates in alphabetical order by candidate names.
- From May 26-28: Complete corrections of candidates' information (if any); hand over the List of Registered Candidates and Registration Form or Registration Dossier (for independent candidates) to the Department of Education and Training.
- No later than June 7: Publicly announce cases of candidates not eligible to take the exam.
- June 28, 29, and 30: Conduct the exam.
- No later than 5:00 PM on July 15: Organize the grading; summarize the grading work; send the grading results data to the Ministry of Education and Training; cross-check the exam results.
- 8:00 AM on July 18: Announce the exam results.
- No later than July 20: Review and recognize high school graduation.
- No later than July 22: Update the results into the management system and send the report on the graduation recognition results to the Ministry of Education and Training; announce the high school graduation results.
- No later than July 24: Issue temporary graduation certificates; return academic records and related certificates (originals) to candidates.
- From July 18 to July 27: Collect and compile the list of re-evaluation requests.
- No later than August 12: Review and recognize high school graduation after re-evaluation.
- Before August 13: Update the management system; send the report and summary data of high school graduation results for 2023.

Candidates should note the following issues in the 2023 High School Graduation Exam:
(1) Candidates must register their application for admission on the national admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training:

(2) High School Graduation Exam Dates in 2023:
On March 1, 2023, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the schedule for the 2023 High School Graduation Exam, which will be held on June 27, 28, 29, and 30, 2023.
- The exam start time in the morning is 7:35 AM, and in the afternoon, it is from 2:30 PM.
(3) How to Calculate the 2023 High School Graduation Score
Based on the provisions in Article 41 of the Exam Regulations issued with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT, the formula to calculate the 2023 High School Graduation Score is as follows:
High School Graduation Score:
Includes the scores of subjects that candidates take to be recognized for high school graduation as prescribed at point a, clause 3, Article 12 of the Regulations issued with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT, priority and incentive points (if any), and the average score for the entire 12th grade year; the score of each subject is converted to a 10-point scale to calculate the high school graduation score.
The High School Graduation Score for general education students is calculated using the following formula:
(4) Items Candidates Can Bring to the 2023 High School Graduation Exam:
According to point m, clause 4, Article 14 of the High School Graduation Exam Regulations issued with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT, amended by clause 6, Article 1 of Circular 06/2023/TT-BGDDT, candidates are only allowed to bring the following items into the exam room:
- Pens, pencils, compasses, erasers, rulers, and rulers;
- Pocket calculators without text composition functions, no memory card;
- Atlat of Vietnamese Geography for Geography exams;
(5) Announcement of 2023 High School Graduation Exam Results on the Morning of July 18:
To be specific, at 8:00 AM on July 18, the exam results will be announced simultaneously nationwide.
(6) Exemption from Foreign Language Exam for High School Graduation Recognition in 2023 with an IELTS Score of 4.0
When exempted from the high school graduation foreign language exam, candidates will be awarded 10 points in this subject to be added to the 2023 high school graduation score.
(7) Some Exam Room Regulations:
Based on the contents of the Exam Regulations issued with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT, candidates for the 2023 High School Graduation Exam should note the following:
- Be present in the exam room on time. Candidates arriving more than 15 minutes late after the exam start signal will not be allowed to take the exam for that session;
- Not allowed to leave the exam room during the multiple-choice exam period;
- For the essay exams, candidates may leave the exam room and exam area after 2/3 (two-thirds) of the exam time has elapsed;
- Must submit the exam paper along with the question paper and scratch paper before leaving the exam room;
- Exam papers copied from unauthorized materials brought into the exam room; having two or more answers for an exam paper; an exam paper with handwriting of two or more people; parts of the exam paper written on scratch paper or non-conforming paper will be scored 0 points;
Candidates for the 2023 High School Graduation Exam
Based on the provisions in Article 12 of the Exam Regulations issued with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT, the candidates for the 2023 High School Graduation Exam include:
- Those who have completed the high school program in the year the exam is held;
- Those who have completed the high school program but have not taken the high school graduation exam or have taken the exam but not graduated in previous years;
- Those who already have a High School Graduation Certificate, those who have a Secondary Graduation Certificate, and wish to take the exam to use the results as a basis for university admission;
- Other special cases decided by the Minister of Education and Training.
