Pursuant to Clause 1, Article 2 of Circular 07/2022/TT-BGDDT has given the following definition:

Career counseling and employment in educational institutions: Activities to assist learners in discovering their own abilities and aptitudes to orient their studies, professional and professional development, and employment. do in accordance with the capacity, interests, forte, health.

Principles of performing career counseling and employment in educational institutions today?

Pursuant to Article 3 of Circular 07/2022/TT-BGDDT stipulating as follows:

“Article 3. Implementation principles
1. The application of this Circular must be consistent with the awareness and qualifications and meet the needs of learners for each level of education and training.
a) For primary school level: Content is cognitive.
b) For junior high school: Content is experiential.
c) For high school: The content is practical and career-oriented.
d) For the university and college level of pedagogy: The content focuses on career development and employment.
2. The training and retraining of knowledge and skills and start-up training prescribed in this Circular are consistent with the education and training programs and do not change the time frame of the school year of the institutions. education.
3. Encourage socialization in career counseling, employment and start-up support in educational institutions in accordance with the law.”

Thus, for each level of study, career and employment counseling will be provided through different contents. Career counseling and employment in educational institutions shall be carried out according to the above principles.

Educating students to manage their finances and discover themselves right from the elementary level?

Pursuant to Article 4 of Circular 07/2022/TT-BGDDT stipulating the tasks of career counseling and employment in educational institutions as follows:

“Article 4. Tasks of career and employment counseling
1. Career orientation for primary school level
a) Educating students to recognize jobs, occupations, jobs of parents and relatives, traditional occupations in the locality and some basic occupations.
b) Educating students to form cognitive skills, management, self-discovery, financial management, communication skills.
c) Detecting, fostering and developing students' talents.
2. Career and employment orientation for junior high school level
a) Educating students to have a positive consciousness and attitude about labor, profession and employment; guide students to discover their own interests, abilities, forte, and career aspirations.
b) Educating students to form and develop social skills, time management, coping with stress, crisis, cooperation and sharing.
c) Creating an environment and organization for students to get acquainted and experience some basic occupations and jobs suitable to the conditions of the school.
d) Counseling, orientation and fostering knowledge about careers and jobs for students suitable to the chosen professions and professions.
dd) Provide students with information, learning materials and documents related to career counseling and employment.
3. Career counseling, employment for high school level
a) Educating students to develop their personality and abilities and identify career aspirations and interests.
b) Provide students with information about higher education institutions, training programs and advise students on job placements after graduation.
c) Provide students with information and development trends of industries and professions in society.
d) Educating students to form and develop skills of teamwork, presentation, leadership, planning, self-study and problem solving.
dd) Organize for students to learn and experience real-life occupations and jobs according to the students' interests and aspirations and in accordance with the conditions of the school.
4. Career and employment counseling for higher education institutions
a) Building a database of job information, recruitment, skills and attitude requirements of occupational groups and jobs; information on labor market needs related to the training industry.
b) Training and fostering to help students practice and develop cognitive skills, social skills, emotional management and career and employment skills.
c) Support students to experience and familiarize themselves with actual work at the partner institution; guide students to participate in part-time jobs in accordance with the study time and regulations of the school.
d) Disclosure of information on the employment status of students after graduation; update student employment statistics into the industry database software of the Ministry of Education and Training.”

Thus, at each different level of education, educational institutions will have different job and career counseling tasks according to the content of the above regulations. Accordingly, right from the time they are primary school students, in Vietnam they have been educated to recognize the profession of their parents, educated on how to manage their finances and discover themselves.

Circular 07/2022/TT-BGDDT will take effect from July 8, 2022.
