Pursuant to Article 6 of Decree 82/2016/ND-CP stipulating the rank of the People's Army in Vietnam as follows:
Officer's rank, cadets are officers

Conditions and promotion for active duty officers in 2022?
Pursuant to Article 17 of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army 1999 (amended and supplemented in Clause 4, Article 1 of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army, amended in 2014), which stipulates the conditions and time limit for military rank promotion for active duty officers in 2022 are as follows:
An active-duty officer may be promoted to the military rank when fully meeting the following conditions:
+ Satisfying the criteria specified in Article 12 of this Law;
+ The current military rank is lower than the highest military rank prescribed for the position or title being held;
+ Satisfy the time limit for consideration for military rank promotion specified in Clause 2 of this Article.
Accordingly, Article 12 of the Law on Officers of the People's Army in Vietnam 1999 stipulates the standards of officers as follows:
- General standard:
