Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 21 Decree 115/2020/ND-CP stipulates the internship duration for individuals recruited into public employee positions as follows:

- For job titles requiring a university-level education:

+ Internship duration is 12 months

+ Specifically for the job title of doctor, it is 09 months;

- For job titles requiring a college-level education, the internship duration is 09 months.

- For job titles requiring an intermediate-level education, the internship duration is 6 months.

Note: Periods of maternity leave under social insurance benefits, sick leave of 14 days or more, unpaid leave, periods of detention, custody, temporary suspension from work under legal provisions are not counted towards the internship period.

In cases where interns take sick leave or have justified reasons for less than 14 days, and are approved by the head of the public service provider where the individual is interning, this period will be counted towards the internship duration.

5. Internship policies are not implemented for individuals who have worked with compulsory social insurance contributions according to the Social Insurance Law, and are placed to work in accordance with their field of training or the specialized professional tasks they previously performed. This period of employment with compulsory social insurance contribution (if interrupted, will be aggregated) is equal to or greater than the internship period for the recruited job title as prescribed in Clause 2 of this Article. For those exempt from internship policies, the head of the public service provider must arrange for public employees to participate in training courses to complete the standards and conditions of the recruited public employee's job title before appointment.

1. Upon completion of the internship period, interns must report their internship results in writing according to the provisions of Clause 3, Article 21 of this Decree; the internship mentor is responsible for commenting and evaluating the internship results in writing. These documents are sent to the head of the public service provider.

2. No later than 05 working days from the date of receiving the intern's report and the mentor's comments and evaluations, the head of the public service provider assesses the political, ethical qualities and work results of the intern. If the intern meets the requirements, the head of the public service provider decides within their authority or submits a document to the competent authority managing the public service provider to decide on the appointment of the job title and salary classification for the recruited public employee.

Therefore, upon completion of the internship period:

- Interns must report their internship results in writing according to the internship content.
