What is the gift amount for war invalids on the occasion of Tet Nguyen Dan Giap Thin in 2024?

Based on Article 1 of Decision 1583/QD-CTN 2023, the regulations are as follows:

Gifts for certain individuals who have contributed to the revolution on the occasion of Tet Nguyen Dan Giap Thin in 2024. To be specific:

1. A gift of 600,000 VND is given to:

a) Individuals who have contributed to the revolution:

- Those who participated in the revolution before January 1, 1945, and are currently receiving monthly preferential benefits.

- Those who participated in the revolution from January 1, 1945, to the August 1945 uprising and are currently receiving monthly preferential benefits.

- Heroic Vietnamese mothers who are currently receiving monthly preferential benefits.

- Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes during the resistance period who are currently receiving monthly preferential benefits.

- War invalids, individuals who enjoy policies like war invalids, category B war invalids, and invalids with a body impairment rate of 81% or more who are currently receiving monthly preferential benefits.

- Individuals who participated in the resistance and were exposed to toxic chemicals with a body impairment rate of 81% or more, currently receiving monthly preferential benefits.

- Individuals who helped the revolution and are currently receiving monthly foster care benefits.

b) Relatives of martyrs who are currently receiving monthly foster care benefits; relatives of two or more martyrs who are currently receiving monthly benefits.

2. A gift of 300,000 VND is given to:

a) Individuals who have contributed to the revolution:

War invalids, individuals who enjoy policies like war invalids, category B war invalids, and invalids with a body impairment rate of 80% or less who are currently receiving monthly preferential benefits. War invalids currently enjoying policies for labor reduction.

- Individuals who participated in the resistance and were exposed to toxic chemicals with a body impairment rate of 80% or less, currently receiving monthly preferential benefits.

- Individuals who participated in the revolution, resistance, national defense, or performed international duties, who were captured and imprisoned by the enemy and are currently receiving monthly preferential benefits.

- Individuals who helped the revolution and are currently receiving monthly preferential benefits.

b) Representatives of martyrs' relatives.

c) Individuals worshipping martyrs (in cases where martyrs have no relatives).

According to the above-mentioned regulations, war invalids with a body impairment rate of 81% or more who are currently receiving monthly preferential benefits are entitled to a gift amount of 600,000 VND on the occasion of Tet Nguyen Dan Giap Thin 2024.

War invalids with a body impairment rate of 80% or less who are currently receiving monthly preferential benefits are entitled to a gift amount of 300,000 VND on the occasion of Tet Nguyen Dan Giap Thin 2024.

What preferential policies do war invalids enjoy?

According to Article 27 of the Ordinance on Preferential Treatment for People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution 2020, the regulations are as follows:

Preferential Regimes for War Invalids

1. Monthly allowances and subsidies for war invalids are as follows:

a) Monthly allowance based on the body impairment rate;

b) Allowance for caregivers for war invalids with a body impairment rate of 81% or more who live in families;

c) Monthly subsidy for war invalids with a body impairment rate of 81% or more;

d) Special monthly allowance for war invalids with a body impairment rate of 81% or more with severe and critical diseases. War invalids receiving special monthly allowances do not receive monthly subsidies.

2. Health insurance.

3. Rehabilitation every two years; for cases with a body impairment rate of 81% or more, annual rehabilitation is provided.

4. Preferential regimes as prescribed in points c, e, g, h, i, and k of clause 2 of Article 5 of this Ordinance.

Accordingly, war invalids enjoy the following preferential policies:

- Monthly allowances and subsidies:

+ Monthly allowance based on the body impairment rate;

+ Allowance for caregivers for war invalids with a body impairment rate of 81% or more who live in families;

+ Monthly subsidy for war invalids with a body impairment rate of 81% or more;

+ Special monthly allowance for war invalids with a body impairment rate of 81% or more with severe and critical diseases. War invalids receiving special monthly allowances do not receive monthly subsidies.

- Health insurance.

- Rehabilitation every two years; for cases with a body impairment rate of 81% or more, annual rehabilitation is provided.

- Provision of assistive devices, orthopedic tools, means, and necessary rehabilitation equipment as prescribed by orthopedic and rehabilitation facilities under the labor - invalids and social affairs sector or from provincial hospitals upwards;

- Housing improvement support based on the contribution, circumstances of each individual, or when having housing difficulties;

- Exemption or reduction of land levy when allocated homestead land by the State, changing land use purposes to homestead land, recognizing homestead land use rights, when purchasing housing owned by the State;

- Priority in land or water surface allocation, renting, priority in contracting forest protection and development;

- Preferential loans for production and business;

- Exemption or reduction of taxes as prescribed by law.

What are the conditions and criteria for recognizing war invalids?

According to clause 1 of Article 26 in the Ordinance on Preferential Treatment for People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution 2020, the regulations are as follows:

Conditions and Criteria for War Invalids

1. Officers, professional soldiers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers in the People's Army, and officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers in the People's Public Security, who suffer from diseases with a body impairment rate of 61% or more while performing urgent and dangerous tasks and do not qualify for a pension, are issued a "War Invalid Certificate" by the competent authority upon leaving the People's Army or People's Public Security.

War invalids must meet the following conditions and criteria to be recognized:

Officers, professional soldiers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers in the People's Army, and officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers in the People's Public Security, who suffer from diseases with a body impairment rate of 61% or more while performing urgent and dangerous tasks and do not qualify for a pension, are issued a "War Invalid Certificate" by the competent authority upon leaving the People's Army or People's Public Security.
