System of Specialized Schools

1. The system of specialized schools includes specialized schools under the province, centrally-run city (hereinafter collectively referred to as provincial specialized schools), and specialized schools under higher education institutions.

2. Each province, centrally-run city must have at least 01 (one) specialized school.

Thus, according to the above regulation, there is no limit on the number of specialized schools that each province or centrally-run city may have.

Assets of Specialized Schools

Specialized schools are invested in physical facilities and equipment like other high schools according to the standards of national standard schools, particularly prioritized for investment in:

1. Study blocks, study support blocks with sufficient number, meeting the standards with standardized equipment, ensuring the conditions for conducting 02 (two) study sessions/day.

2. Synchronously modern teaching equipment serving the teaching, fostering of gifted students, and organizing cultural, artistic, and scientific research activities of teachers and students.

3. Dormitories and dining halls for students in need of boarding.

4. Staff housing for teachers.

5. Sports fields, multifunctional houses, swimming pools, and other sports equipment and tools.

Thus, according to the above regulation, specialized schools are invested in physical facilities and equipment like other high schools according to the standards of national standard schools, particularly prioritized for investment in dormitories.

Based on Clause 1, Article 6 of the Regulations on the organization and operation of specialized high schools issued together with Circular 05/2023/TT-BGDDT, the provisions are as follows:

Encouragement Policies for Management Staff, Teachers, Employees, and Students

1. Management staff, teachers, and employees of specialized schools enjoy preferential policies according to the regulations of the Government of Vietnam.

Provincial People's Committees (for provincial specialized schools) and higher education institutions (for specialized schools under higher education institutions) shall, based on legal regulations, submit to competent authorities for decision or decide on additional preferential and reward policies for management staff, teachers, and employees of specialized schools achieving excellent results as assigned.

2. Students of specialized schools who win prizes in national and international cultural subject excellence contests; national and international scientific and technical competitions shall be considered for scholarship and reward policies according to regulations.

Provincial People's Committees (for provincial specialized schools) and higher education institutions (for specialized schools under higher education institutions) shall decide on additional scholarship and reward policies for students who achieve excellent results in studies, training, and achieve accomplishments in national and international cultural subject excellence contests; national and international scientific and technical competitions.

3. The admission, priority admission to domestic higher education institutions, and sending students to study abroad at higher education institutions for specialized school students shall comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Thus, according to the above regulation, management staff, teachers, and employees of specialized schools enjoy preferential policies according to the regulations of the Government of Vietnam.

Provincial People's Committees (for provincial specialized schools) and higher education institutions (for specialized schools under higher education institutions) shall, based on legal regulations, submit to competent authorities for decision or decide on additional preferential and reward policies for management staff, teachers, and employees of specialized schools achieving excellent results as assigned.
