Pursuant to Article 13 of the Regulations attached to Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT (amended by Clause 4, Article 1 of Circular 06/2023/TT-BGDDT, amended by Clause 3, Article 1 of Circular 02/2024/TT-BGDDT), the documents required for online registration for the 2024 High School Graduation Exam are as follows:
* For candidates who have completed the high school program in the year of the exam:
- 02 identical application forms;
- The original or certified copy (from the original or a copy issued by the school) of the high school transcript or the post-secondary school certificate or the self-study assessment sheet issued by the high school principal.
- Valid certificates for priority admission or commendation (if applicable)
- A photo file (or 02 4x6 photos in case of direct registration) with the format similar to the Citizen ID Card, taken no more than 6 months before the submission of the application.
* For candidates who have completed the high school program but have not taken the High School Graduation Exam or have taken it but have not graduated in previous years
- In addition to the documents required for candidates who have completed the high school program in the year of the exam, the application for the exam must also include:
+ Confirmation letter from the high school where the candidate studied grade 12 or where the candidate registered for the exam regarding academic ranking for students who are ranked low in academic performance as specified in Point b, Clause 2, Article 12 of the Regulations attached to Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT.

What regulations must candidates comply with when taking the Vietnam high school graduation exam in 2024?
Pursuant to Clause 4 Article 14 of the Regulation on Vietnam High School Graduation Exam issued together with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT amended and supplemented by Clause 6, Article 1 of Circular 02/2024/TT-BGDDT, Candidates taking the high school graduation exam must comply with the following regulations:
- Present the Candidate Card to invigilators; sit in the assigned seat with the registered candidate number.
- For the purpose of completing the examination, candidates are allowed to bring into the examination room: pens; rulers; pencils; erasers; compasses; graph drawing rulers; drawing tools; handheld calculators without text editing function and memory card; Atlas of Vietnam Geography compiled according to the 2006 General Education Program (without any marking or additional content).
Prohibited items in the examination room: carbon paper, correction fluid, alcoholic beverages; weapons and explosive materials; information transmission devices (receiving, broadcasting, recording, filming) or containing information for cheating during the examination process;
- Before starting the examination, candidates must write their candidate number and personal information on the test paper, examination sheet, Multiple-Choice Answer Sheet (MCAS), and draft paper.
When receiving the test paper, candidates must carefully check the page numbers and the quality of the printed pages; if any missing, torn, damaged, blurred pages are found, candidates must immediately report to the invigilators within 5 (five) minutes from the start of the examination time.
- Maintain order in the examination room; report immediately to the invigilators if someone copies their work or intentionally interferes with their work; no exchanging, discussing, copying others' work, allowing others to copy their work, using materials against regulations to complete the examination, or engaging in cheating gestures or actions; if candidates wish to express their opinions, they must raise their hand to ask for permission from the invigilators, and after being granted permission, candidates can openly present their opinions.
No marking or making personal symbols, no writing with pencils, except for filling in the boxes on the Multiple-Choice Answer Sheets; only allowed to write with one ink color (not allowed to use red ink);
- Candidates are not allowed to leave the examination room until the completion time for the multiple-choice examination; for essay examinations, candidates may be allowed to leave the examination room and the examination area after 2/3 (two-thirds) of the allotted time for the examination has elapsed, but they must submit their papers along with the test paper and draft paper before leaving the examination room.
In necessary cases, candidates are only allowed to leave the examination room with permission from the invigilators and under the supervision of the examination supervisors.
If a candidate needs emergency assistance and must leave the examination room or examination area, they must be supervised by the police and examination supervisors until the end of the examination time, as decided by the Chief Examiner;
- When the time for completing the examination is announced, candidates must immediately stop working and keep the papers intact.
When submitting the written examination, candidates must clearly indicate the number of answer sheets submitted and sign the confirmation on the Examination Paper Receipt Form; even if unable to complete the examination, candidates must still submit the answer sheets (for written examinations) or Multiple-Choice Answer Sheets (for multiple-choice examinations).
