What are the duties of Traffic Police during patrols and control?
According to the regulations at Article 7 of Circular 32/2023/TT-BCA, the duties of Traffic Police during patrols and control are as follows:
- Comply with legal regulations and orders, plans for patrols, control, and handling of violations issued by competent authorities.
- Patrol, control, and handle violations to ensure road traffic order and safety within the designated route and area.
- Promptly detect, prevent, and handle traffic violations and other legal violations as prescribed; cooperate with road management agencies to detect and prevent violations of road infrastructure protection and road safety corridors.
- Investigate and resolve traffic accidents in accordance with the law and the Ministry of Public Security regulations.
- Directly and in coordination with units within and outside the People's Police force to prevent and combat crime and other legal violations on road routes. Participate in counter-terrorism activities, anti-riot measures, epidemic prevention, natural disaster response, firefighting, and search and rescue on road routes as prescribed.
- Through patrol, control, and violation handling activities, carry out the following tasks:
+ Detect gaps, deficiencies, and inadequacies in state management of security, order, and road traffic, report, and propose competent authorities to suggest solutions to relevant agencies for prompt remedy;
+ Guide, disseminate, and mobilize the public to participate in ensuring road traffic order and safety and comply with road traffic laws.
- Perform other tasks of the People's Police force as prescribed by law.
