In Vietnam, what is the newest region-based statutory minimum wage in 2024?
According to Resolution 104/2023/QH15 on the state budget estimate for 2024 issued by the National Assembly, from July 1, 2024 it will implement the overall salary policy reform according to Resolution 27-NQ/TW in 2018.
Thus, the newest region-based statutory minimum wage in 2024 will be divided into two stages:

On the morning of December 20, the National Wage Council held the second session of 2023, to discuss and negotiate on the plan for the region-based statutory minimum wage increase in 2024. Through multi-dimensional discussion, the increase of region-based statutory minimum wage in 2024 by 6% shall be submitted to the authorities, thereby issuing a Decree for implementation.
According to Appendix IV promulgated together with Resolution 01/NQ-CP 2024, the Government of Vietnam assigns the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to preside over the implementation and complete the Decree stipulating the minimum wage for employees working under employment contracts in May 2024.

- Region III: increased from 3.64 million VND/month to about 3.86 million VND/month (an increase of 220,000 VND);
- Region IV: increased from 3.25 million VND/month to about 3.45 million VND/month (an increase of 200,000 VND).

Enterprises are allowed to implement salary policies based on negotiations and agreements between employers and employees and collective representatives of employees; The state does not directly intervene in enterprises' salary policies.
- Implement labor and salary management in state-owned enterprises according to the method of contracting salary costs associated with the production and business tasks of the enterprise until 2025 and moving towards contracting the production and business tasks of the enterprise by 2030.
