How to assess counterfeit and suspected counterfeit money in the prevention of counterfeit money in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 5 of the Draft Decree on prevention and combat of counterfeit money and the protection of Vietnamese currency (Draft 1), stipulating the assessment of counterfeit money and suspected counterfeit money in the prevention of counterfeit money in Vietnam as follows:
- The Ministry of Public Security and the State Bank are responsible for organizing the assessment of counterfeit money and suspected counterfeit money for organizations and individuals that request it. The list and contact addresses of agencies and units performing the assessment of counterfeit and suspected counterfeit money must be publicly announced on the web portal of the Ministry of Public Security and the State Bank.
The Ministry of Public Security and the State Bank shall have to arrange professional staff to conduct the assessment, ensure equipment, facilities and other necessary conditions to serve the public assessment of counterfeit and suspected counterfeit money.

Process of dealing with counterfeit money after being detected in anti-counterfeiting work in Vietnam?

In case the assessment conclusion is real money, it must be returned to the organization or individual.
- For counterfeit money or money suspected of being forged at the request of the police, army, customs, People's Procuracy or People's Court, after being assessed, the assessment agency shall return it to the competent authority. The agency requested an inspection.
Following the processing of the assessment results, the counterfeit money will be stored, packed, preserved, delivered and transported according to the provisions of Article 7 of the Draft Decree on prevention and combat of counterfeit money. and protect the Vietnamese currency (Draft 1) as follows:
- The Ministry of Public Security and the State Bank are allowed to keep some fake money as research materials. The Minister of Public Security and the Governor of the State Bank shall decide on the quantity and types and stipulate the storage, management and use of these documents by the assessment agencies under the management of the Ministries and branches.
- The Ministry of Public Security, the State Bank, the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Finance consider and decide on the packaging, preservation, delivery, delivery and transportation of counterfeit money within the scope and management competence.
Counterfeit money will be handed over according to Article 8 of the Draft Decree on prevention and combat of counterfeiting and protection of Vietnamese currency (Draft 1) as follows:
- Organizations and individuals that have counterfeit money are responsible for handing them over to functional agencies of the police, army, customs, credit institutions, foreign bank branches, the State Treasury or the State Bank. nearest country.
- The handover of counterfeit money is shown in writing, clearly stating the type of money, quantity, face value, and serial number of handed over counterfeit money (according to the form in Appendix IV).

- The destruction of counterfeit money related to cases of law violation shall comply with the provisions of law.
