In the 2024-2025 academic year, which grades shall the 2018 General Education Program in Vietnam apply to?

Pursuant to the provisions of Article 2 of Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDĐT as follows:

The General Education Program applies to:
1. first grade from academic year 2020-2021.
2. second and sixth grades from the academic year 2021-2022
3. third, seventh, and tenth grades from academic year 2022-2023
4. fourth, eighth and eleventh grades from academic year 2023-2024.
5. fifth, ninth and twelfth grades from academic year 2024-2025.

According to the above regulations, in the 2023-2024 academic year, the 2018 General Education Program applies to first, second, third, sixth, seventh, and tenth grades. Especially, the 2018 General Education Program applies to fourth, eighth, and eleventh grades for the first time.

In the 2024-2025 academic year, the 2018 General Education Program shall apply to students in fifth, ninth, and twelfth grades.

In the General Education Program issued together with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDĐT, the viewpoints of the 2018 General Education Program in Vietnam are as follows:

A general education program means a document expressing the objectives of general education, specifying requirements to be achieved on the quality and capacity of students, educational contents, educational methods, and methods of evaluating educational results, as a basis for managing the quality of general education; at the same time, it is the commitment of the State to ensure the quality of both the system and each general education institution.

- The General Education Program is developed on the basis of the Party and State's views on fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training; inherit and develop the advantages of Vietnam's existing general education programs,

- The General Education Program ensures the development of learners' qualities and capacities through educational content with basic, practical, and modern knowledge and skills; harmonizes virtue, mind, body, and beauty; focuses on practicing, and applying learned knowledge and skills to solve problems in learning and life; highly integrated into the lower classes, gradually differentiated in the upper classes; Through methods and forms of educational organization that promote the initiative and potential of each student, assessment methods suitable to educational goals and educational methods to achieve that goal.

- The General Education Program ensures close connections between classes and education levels and links with preschool education programs, vocational education programs, and higher education programs.

- The General Education Program is developed in an open direction, namely:
