What are the general objectives of the General Education Program in Computer Science in Vietnam?
Pursuant to sub-section 1 of Section III of the General Education Program in Computer Science issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the general objectives of the General Education Program in Computer Science are as follows:
- The education program in computer science contributes to the formation and development of essential qualities and general competencies as defined in the overall program, while primarily contributing to the formation and development of computer science skills for students. The subject of computer science equips students with a system of general computer science knowledge, consisting of three intertwined knowledge domains:
+ Digital literacy aims to help students integrate into modern society, use digital devices and common basic software in an ethical, cultural, and law-abiding manner.
+ Information technology and communication aim to help students use and apply computer systems to efficiently and creatively solve real-world problems.
+ Computer science aims to help students understand the basic principles and practices of computer thinking, laying the foundation for designing and developing computer systems.
What are the objectives of the General Education Program in Computer Science for primary schools in Vietnam?
Pursuant to sub-section 2 of Section III of the General Education Program in Computer Science issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the objectives of the General Education Program in Computer Science for primary school are as follows:
- The education program in computer science at the primary school level helps students to become familiar with digital technology, develop computer science skills, and prepare them for continuing to study computer science at the lower secondary level, specifically:
+ To initially develop problem-solving skills with the assistance of computers: Foster the need to collect and use information, control ideas through creating simple programs using visual programming language.
+ Help students use software to create simple digital products such as short texts, greeting cards, fun animations, etc.
+ Help students become familiar with digital technology through using computers for entertainment, learning, browsing, and searching for information on the Internet; cultivate basic computer usage skills; promote awareness of health protection when using computers; develop initial awareness of avoiding the harmful effects of the Internet and respecting copyright.
What are the objectives of the General Education Program in Computer Science for lower secondary schools in Vietnam?
Pursuant to sub-section 3 of Section III of the General Education Program in Computer Science issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the objectives of the General Education Program in Computer Science for lower secondary school are as follows:
- The education program in computer science at the lower secondary level helps students to further develop the computer science skills acquired at the primary school level and enhance those skills at a basic level, specifically:
+ Help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities; know how to select appropriate and useful data and information; break down a large problem into smaller tasks; have an initial understanding of modeling a problem through understanding and using concepts of algorithms and visual programming; use patterns in the design and creation of digital products; evaluate the results of digital products and be able to adjust and fix any errors.
+ Enable students to use tools, devices, and software; know how to organize storage and utilize multimedia resources; create and share simple digital products for learning and daily life; have awareness and ability to apply ICT for personal and community purposes.
+ Familiarize students with common digital services and software for daily life, learning and self-study, communication, and collaboration within the community; have basic knowledge of laws, ethics, and culture related to the use of information resources and communication on the internet; have initial awareness of various professions in the field of computer science.
What are the objectives of the General Education Program in Computer Science for upper secondary schools in Vietnam?
Pursuant to sub-section 3 of Section III of the General Education Program in Computer Science issued with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the objectives of the General Education Program in Computer Science for upper secondary school are as follows:
- The education program in computer science at the upper secondary school level helps students consolidate and enhance the computer science skills developed during the basic education stage, while also providing them with career-oriented knowledge in the field of computer science or computer applications, specifically:
+ Help students acquire basic knowledge about computer systems, some algorithm design techniques, data organization, and programming; further develop students' problem-solving skills, ability to generate ideas, and transfer tasks for computers to execute.
+ Enable students to apply computer science, create digital products for the community, and improve work efficiency; have the ability to select, use, connect digital devices, network and communication services, software, and other digital resources.
+ Help students integrate and adapt to the development of the digital society, apply information technology and communication in learning and self-study; search for and exchange information in a appropriate manner, comply with laws, have ethics, exhibit cultural behavior, and take responsibility; have additional knowledge about various professions in the field of computer science, and actively and confidently plan their future career direction.
