Based on Appendix I issued with Official Dispatch 1682/SGDDT-KTKD in 2023, the results of the 10th grade admission exam in Ho Chi Minh City will be announced on June 20, 2023.
There are two important time milestones:
- June 24, 2023: Announcement of the admission cut-off scores for specialized, integrated high schools and direct admission results.- July 10, 2023: Announcement of cut-off scores for the 10th grade admission and the list of students admitted to the 10th grade for the academic year 2023-2024.
To look up the results of the 10th grade admission exam in Ho Chi Minh City, students can follow these instructions:
Method 1: Students in Ho Chi Minh City can check their exam scores on the website: https://diemthi.hcm.edu.vn/
Method 2: Candidates can use other methods such as calling the 1080 hotline.
- Call the hotline directly with the syntax: Area-code 1080 and call

Instructions for Calculating 10th Grade Admission Scores in Ho Chi Minh City for 2023-2024?
According to the instructions in Official Dispatch 1682/SGDDT-KTKD in 2023, the admission score is calculated as follows:
For Non-Specialized High Schools
- Admission Score: The total score of 3 admission tests and priority points.
- Students eligible for consideration are those who participated in all three admission tests and did not score 0 (zero) in any test.
For Specialized High Schools
- The admission score for specialized classes is the total score: Literature score + Foreign Language score + Math score + (Specialized subject score x 2).
- The admission score for non-specialized classes is the total score: Literature score + Foreign Language score + Math score.
Regarding the admission process:
For specialized classes: Based on the specified admission scores for specialized classes, students will be considered in descending order until the assigned quotas for each specialized subject are filled.
- For non-specialized classes: Based on the specified admission scores for non-specialized classes, students will be considered in descending order until the quotas for non-specialized classes are filled.
Note: If students do not get admitted to specialized schools and classes, graduates from junior high schools in Ho Chi Minh City can still participate in the admission process for other high schools according to the three previously registered options.
For High Schools with Integrated Programs in Math, Science, and English
The integrated English program admission score is calculated as follows:
* Admission Score = Literature score + Foreign Language score + Math score + Average score of the Integrated English Program (on a 10-point scale).
Note:
Students admitted to the 10th grade integrated English program for the academic year 2023-2024, besides Math and English, will select subjects from the natural sciences group (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology).
Students registered for the integrated English program are not allowed to register for specialized class admission.
Instructions for Enrollment Procedures for 10th-grade Students in Ho Chi Minh City
According to Official Dispatch 1682/SGDDT-KTKD in 2023, the enrollment procedures for 10th-grade students in Ho Chi Minh City are as follows:
Enrollment Time:
- June 25, 2023 - June 29, 2023: Successful candidates for specialized high schools, integrated programs, and direct admission should submit their enrollment documents at the admitted school.
After 16:00 on June 29, 2023, if a candidate does not submit their enrollment documents, the school will remove their name from the admission list.
- July 11, 2023 - August 1, 2023: Successful candidates for general high schools should submit their enrollment documents at the admitted school.
After 16:00 on August 1, if a candidate does not submit their enrollment documents, the school will remove their name from the admission list.
- August 3, 2023 - August 10, 2023: Schools will receive the list of students registered for enrollment.
Enrollment Documents:
(1) For Non-Specialized High Schools:
- Registration form for graduation consideration from junior high school for the academic year 2022-2023 and the 10th-grade admission exam for the academic year 2023-2024 with three prioritized admission options for high schools;- Admission score report listing three priority choices;- Junior high school transcript (original);- Certificate of temporary graduation issued by the educational institution and submission of the original diploma when issued by the Department of Education and Training;- Valid copy of birth certificate;- Certification of priority policy (if any) issued by competent authorities;
(2) For Specialized High Schools:
- Junior high school transcript (original);- Valid copy of birth certificate;- Certificate of temporary junior high school graduation.
(3) For Direct Admission:
- Students admitted directly must submit a complete set of enrollment documents including:- Junior high school transcript (original);- Certificate of temporary graduation issued by the educational institution and submission of the original diploma when issued by the Department of Education and Training;- Valid copy of birth certificate;- Valid copy of the disability certificate issued by competent authorities, valid certificate of national or international awards issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, or awarded Certificate of Commendation by the People's Committee of the City (for international competitions);
Note:
- If discrepancies are found in the submitted enrollment documents or if the candidate does not meet the direct admission criteria after submission, the candidate will be removed from the school's student list.- If students do not submit their enrollment documents to the schools where they have been directly admitted, they are still eligible to participate in the admission process for other high schools according to the previously registered options.
