How to calculate the salary of nurses and doctors at all levels in Vietnam from July 1, 2023?

In fact, the salary of doctors, paramedics and nurses at all levels at public medical examination and treatment establishments is calculated according to the following formula (excluding allowances):

Salary = coefficient x statutory pay rate

According to Decree 24/2023/ND-CP, from July 1, 2023, the statutory pay rate is VND 1,800,000/month.

Accordingly, the salary of doctors and medical staff as public employees is still ranked according to the formula of coefficient x statutory pay rate. - Professional titles of doctors (Grade III) and professional titles of preventive medicine doctors (Grade III) are entitled to a salary coefficient of grade A1, from a salary coefficient of 2.34 to a salary coefficient of 4, 98;

- For the medical profession, the salary coefficient of Grade B is applied, from 1.86 to 4.06.

b) During the period of application of preferential allowances according to occupations for preventive medicine and grassroots health workers specified in Clause 7 of this Article, the provisions of Point c, Clause 2 and regulations for medical staff members in Clause 2 of this Article shall not apply regular and direct positions in preventive medicine as specified in Clause 4, Article 3.

Thus, the beneficiaries of the 100% vocational incentive allowance according to the provisions of Decree 05/2023/ND-CP are preventive health workers, regular grassroots health workers who directly work as medical professionals who have been trained in the field of health care. and are enjoying preferential allowances according to occupations at the rate of 40% - 70% specified in Decree 56/2011/ND-CP and Joint Circular 02/2012/TTLT-BYT-BNV-BTC.
