Recently, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued Document 4807/SGDDT-VP on guiding the adjustment of the Lunar New Year holiday in 2023.
According to that, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on the adjustment of the Vietnamese New Year holiday schedule of students at all levels in Ho Chi Minh City is as follows:
In order to ensure consistency and create conditions for students and teachers during the Vietnamese New Year holiday of 2023, the Department of Education and Training guides to adjust the Vietnamese New Year holiday schedule with the following specific contents:
- Adjusting the Vietnamese New Year holiday in 2023 for preschool, general education and continuing education in Ho Chi Minh City from January 18, 2023 (December 27 of the lunar calendar) until the end of January 29, 2023 (January 8).
Thus, students in the locality of Ho Chi Minh City have a total of 12 days of Tet holiday.

The 2023 Vietnamese New Year holiday schedule and the 2023 National Day have been officially approved?
Recently, the Government Office issued Official Dispatch 8056/VPCP-KGVX in 2022 about the Vietnamese New Year holiday and National Day holiday in 2023.
According to that, considering the proposal of the Lunar New Year holiday and National Day holiday in 2023, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam approved the following:
- The Lunar New Year holiday from January 20, 2023 to the end of January 26, 2023 and National Day holiday from September 1, 2023 to the end of September 4, 2023.
Agencies and units implementing the above holiday schedule must arrange reasonable work arrangements to handle continuous work, ensuring good service to the organization and people.
- Other weekly holidays, public holidays and New Year holidays shall comply with the provisions of the Labor Code.
- Authorizes the Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to announce the Lunar New Year holiday and National Day holiday in 2023.
Thus, cadres, civil servants, public employees and employees are entitled to an official Tet holiday of 07 days.
