From September 20, 2024, what will the form of cards of inspector in transport sector under Circular 29/2024/TT-BGTVT look like?
According to Appendix IV issued with Circular 29/2024/TT-BGTVT that prescribes the form of cards of inspector in transport sector as follows:

The cards of inspector in transport sector are rectangular, 60mm wide, 90mm long, made of paper, and laminated with plastic for protection.
The content on the cards of inspector in transport sector is presented using the font of the Vietnamese Unicode character set according to Vietnam Standard TCVN 6909:2001.
The card includes two sides:
The front side (Figure 1) has a red background with yellow uppercase letters, consisting of two lines: the upper line is the national emblem, bold font, size 10; the lower line is the text "THẺ THANH TRA CHUYÊN NGÀNH" (TRANSPORT INSPECTION CARD), bold font, size 16; between the two lines is the national crest, 24mm in diameter.
The back side (Figure 2): the background has bright pink patterns forming rays spreading outward; in the middle is the inspectorate symbol, printed in watermark, 20mm in diameter; the upper left corner has the inspectorate symbol, 14mm in diameter; from the upper left corner (10mm away) to the bottom right corner is a red diagonal line, 06mm wide.
The content on the back side includes:
+ National emblem, uppercase, bold, size 8;
+ Slogan, lowercase, bold, size 8, underlined;
+ Cards of inspector in transport sector, uppercase, bold, red, size 12;
+ Card number, lowercase, bold, size 10;
+ Name of the cardholder, lowercase, bold, size 10;
+ Agency the cardholder is working at, lowercase, bold, size 10;
+ Date of issuance, italic, size 10;
+ Portrait of the cardholder in official transportation inspection uniform, size 20mm x 30mm, stamped with 1/4 embossed seal at the bottom right corner of the photo;
+ Title of the authorized signer, uppercase, bold, size 8;
+ Signature and full name of the authorized signer; seal of the issuing authority;
+ Expiration date, lowercase, size 10;
+ The bottom line records the expiration date in lowercase, bold, size 10.

What are the standards for transport sector inspection officials in Vietnam?
According to Article 3 of Circular 29/2024/TT-BGTVT, the conditions and standards for transport sector inspection officials in Vietnam are prescribed as follows:
- transport sector inspection officials are officials under the organization advising and assisting the Head of the agency assigned to perform the transportation inspection function under the Ministry of Transport.
Units under the agency assigned to perform the transportation inspection function under the Ministry of Transport.
- transport sector inspection officials must meet the conditions and standards prescribed in Clause 3, Article 38 of the Inspection Law 2022 and the following conditions and standards:
+ transport sector inspection officials of the General Department of Roads of Vietnam, Vietnam Railway Authority, Vietnam Inland Waterway Administration must have at least a university degree suitable to the job position requirements in one of the fields related to transportation, construction, architecture, mechanics, information technology, telecommunications, law, economics, finance;
+ transport sector inspection officials of the Vietnam Register must have at least a university degree suitable for job position requirements in one of the technical fields related to vehicle registration, transportation equipment, or other relevant fields in law, finance.
What are regulations on cards of inspector in transport sectors in Vietnam?
According to Article 13 of Circular 29/2024/TT-BGTVT, regulations on cards of inspector in transport sector in Vietnam are as follows:
- The cards of inspector in transport sector is issued to transport sector inspectors for use when performing inspection duties.
The Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Transport decides on issuing new, replacing, or revoking cards of inspector in transport sectors at the request of the Head of the agency assigned to perform the transportation inspection function under the Ministry of Transport.
The validity period of the cards of inspector in transport sector is 5 years from the date of issuance, including new issuance, replacement, and re-issuance according to Article 14 of Circular 29/2024/TT-BGTVT.
For transport sector inspectors with less than 5 years of service left, the validity period of the inspection card is until the official retirement.
- The form of cards of inspector in transport sector is specified in Appendix IV issued with Circular 29/2024/TT-BGTVT.

+ Each transport sector inspector is issued an inspection card code. The inspection card code consists of three parts, separated by a hyphen;
+ The first part consists of one uppercase letter and two numbers: A06;
+ The second part consists of uppercase letters distinguishing the agency using the transport sector inspector. Specifically:
(i) General Department of Roads of Vietnam is CDBVN; Vietnam Railway Authority is CDRV;
(ii) Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration is CIWVN;
(iii) Vietnam Register is CRVN;
+ The third part consists of three digits, starting from 001, which is the ordinal number of the transport sector inspector of the agency assigned to perform the transportation inspection function under the Ministry of Transport.
- The cards of inspector in transport sector code does not change if the inspector is transferred within the same agency assigned to perform the transportation inspection function under the Ministry of Transport, unless reassigned as per Clause 3, Article 4 of Circular 29/2024/TT-BGTVT.
- The cards of inspector in transport sector code changes (a new code is issued) if the inspector transfers to a different agency assigned to perform the transportation inspection function under the Ministry of Transport.
- The embossed seal on the cards of inspector in transport sector
+ The embossed seal on the inspection card is the seal of the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Transport, 18mm in diameter;
+ The embossed seal is used to stamp the bottom right corner of the cardholder's portrait;
+ The Inspectorate of the Ministry of Transport is responsible for managing and using the embossed seal according to legal provisions.
Circular 29/2024/TT-BGTVT takes effect in Vietnam from September 20, 2024.
