- Colonel of the Vietnamese People's Army has a salary coefficient of: 8.00.- Senior Lieutenant Colonel of the Vietnamese People's Army has a salary coefficient of: 7.30.- Lieutenant Colonel of the Vietnamese People's Army has a salary coefficient of: 6.60.- Major of the Vietnamese People's Army has a salary coefficient of: 6.00.

The current statutory pay rate is 1,800,000 VND/month.

New Salaries for Military Officers at the Rank of Lieutenant after the Salary Reform 2024

Based on the spirit of Resolution 27-NQ/TW of 2018, there is a proposal for salary reform regarding the creation of three new salary tables for the military based on job positions, titles, and leadership positions replacing the current salary system; transition from old salary to new salary, ensuring that the new salary is not lower than the current salary, including:

- 01 salary table for military officers, police officers, and non-commissioned officers (according to titles, positions, and military ranks);

- 01 salary table for professional military personnel, technical specialists in the police force;- 01 salary table for defense workers, police workers (maintaining the salary relationship of the armed forces compared to administrative officials as currently).

According to the spirit of Resolution 27-NQ/TW of 2018 the salary structure for military officers at the rank of Colonel after the implementation of salary reform will include:

- Basic salary (accounting for about 70% of the total salary fund);- Allowances (accounting for about 30% of the total salary fund);- Additional bonuses (bonus fund accounting for about 10% of the total annual salary fund, excluding allowances).

Thus, after the implementation of salary reform from July 1, 2024, the salary for military officers will be determined using the following formula:

The new salary table for military officers at the rank of Colonel will be constructed based on the following factors:

- Abolish the current statutory pay rate and salary coefficient, constructing a basic salary amount as a specific amount in the new salary table.- Expand the salary relationship as a basis to determine specific salary amounts in the salary system, gradually approaching the salary relations of the business sector in line with the State's resources.- Complete policies for regular salary increases and advance salary increments in accordance with the provisions of the new salary table.

Thus, the new salary table for military officers at the rank of Colonel after the implementation of salary reform from July 1, 2024, will be constructed according to the aforementioned factors based on job positions, titles, and leadership positions replacing the current salary system; transition old salaries to new salaries, ensuring that the new salary is not lower than the current salary.

Duties of Military Officers at the Rank of Colonel

Based on the provisions in Article 26 of the Law on People's Army Officers of Vietnam 1999, military officers at the rank of Colonel have the following obligations:

- Be ready to fight, sacrifice to protect the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Fatherland, protect the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; participate in national construction, protect the assets and interests of the State, agencies, organizations; protect the lives, property, and legal rights and interests of individuals;- Consistently maintain and enhance revolutionary ethics, study, train to improve political, military, cultural, professional knowledge, and physical fitness to complete tasks;- Absolutely obey the organization, obey the commander; strictly follow the regulations, rules, and policies of the army; maintain military secrecy and state secrecy;- Consistently care for the material and spiritual welfare of soldiers;- Exemplarily comply with and mobilize people to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws; respect and closely bind with the people.
